My adopted father Ted Sutton built the very first 427 cobra and was the first person to drive one. Very cool car!

Excuse my stupidity,
Is the aluminum body telling me that this is a REAL Cobra?
Just curious.
I have always loved those cars.
Someday I'll get to drive one.

repo aluminum
Actually, it would be "continuation series" aluminum. It has a genuine CSX#.

Yup, STV Keith is correct
The original 427 Cobra's built in the '60's were CSX 3XXX serial numbers
The CSX 4XXX series cars were built recently to be exact reproductions of the originals with very high premiums for aluminum bodies and side oiler 427 motors. Shelby doesn't sell his stuff cheap. (You can also get them with fiberglass bodies and other FE motors) That car is most likely valued between 80,000 and 125,000. Originals are going for 450,000 to 700,000 (maybe even more now).
Awesome car. Wish I had the money.

Thanks. :) I helps that one of my good buds is Shelby's PR guy - who drives all the Shelby stuff at the tracks, etc. :) I kinda had the lesson a few years back. LOL.
