This is going in a 27 Shadow we are building. It's a 572 1400hp(approx) quad rotor. We'll know the exact hp next week after it gets back from the dyno. Just though it looked so cool I had to post a picture.

I'll post some pictures next week when it pops out of the mold. It's an all silver metallic with purple hot rod flames. Should look pretty good. All silver carbon fiber interior too.
I've been pretty busy trying to get boats built the past few months, so I haven't been on here much. Plus I've been spending A LOT of time with the kids on this Trophy Kart racing stuff. I'm coming up to Havasu the end of next week for four or five days. We'll have to hook up.
Here's some shots of last weeks practice in Lancaster. We had to take the body off because it was so muddy on the track that it was weighing the kart down too much.

The boat is definitely going to fly. He needs that much HP though to run. I think he boats at like 6000 feet elevation.

That should make a very nice package, motor and boat. Nortech has a couple of NXT drives for sale, that would be a great drive for that boat. It will be a runner!!

The NXT drive will not fit on the 27 Shadow due to the molded swim step.

It's Ultra Custom Boats right? Then a number six can be put on the back of a 27'. If it is a Custom boat builder anything can be done. This 27' is super nice, but man I feel sorry for the guy that has to spend 5K a year putting drives on it.

Andy you are correct it is CUSTOM, but a NXT was already fitted and it did not work. You would have to cut into the hull and notch it. JW opted not to do that for a reason. I originally was going to run the Merc 700, but went with the Teague 800. If it could have been done I am sure JW would have found a way.
This boat is running a Max Machine Worx drive. I do agree with you though about the drives.

I originally was going to run the Merc 700, but went with the Teague 800. Thanks for enlightening me on what CUSTOM is though. I have had a few boats built by JW 4 to be exact so I know that they are a CUSTOM builder and my wife was also JW's assistant for 3 years. I have also sold a few boats for JW and Ultra over the past couple years. If it could have been done I am sure JW would have found a way.

That's cool your wife worked there. That's cool you sold boats for him. WOW, 4 boats!! Really? Which ones where they? I had no idea, jezz I'm sorry my bad. Now with you being a full custom pro, having sold custom boats, having your wife work there at a custom boat shop, you and John working side by side in sales your boat must be off the hook with all of your experience. Could you put a picture of your engine compartment with the 800 and some other really custom "experienced shoots" up here for me.
If someone didn't want to buy drives or wanted a NXT it could be done, I think it is a injustice to Ultra to say "the NXT will not fit because of the swim step" John and his guys do some pretty nice work. Now some boats cannot take a 700/NXT because of the rear intake area of the 700, not just the drive. If the swim step is the only reason then for a custom builder it is no reason.
I've seen two Conquest with the swim steps re worked to have a 6 drive, they looked stock when they were done. If John had somebody sitting in his office that wanted it $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ he would do it.

Yeah I deleted it because I felt that I read into your post a bit and figured there was no need to start drama where drama is not needed. Take it or leave it. I will always say my piece and stand behind it, but I thought on this matter it was not needed and again I felt like I jumped the gun. No need to go any farther.
