I was just wondering who was into street rods?
I have a 46 Dodge tudor sedan that im planning on put a 392 Hemi in. The car came out of a barn where it was stored for like 50 years. It has 36,000 miles on it. If it was a Chevy or a Ford I would have to restore it but its just a Dodge.
My second project is a 1940 Mercury coupe. It is a total disaster. You could almost throw a dead cat thru it. LOL Well maybe not that bad.
I also have a 1966 Chevrolet Impala. This was my first car. I bought it when I was 15. I pull my 1966 Stevens behind the car. It looks pretty cool. We take it to the cruise nights once in a while. It draws a big crowd.
I know this isn't a Street Rod site but it is to Dam cold out to talk about boats.....27 deg this morning.

Dan, yes there are probably a bunch of the v-drive guys that restore old cars, mine is a 1976 Corvette Stingray, and if I can get the nerve to put a trailer hitch on it I will pull my 1976 Hondo Dragboat behind it, I have read some of the oldrigger' posts and evidently he does more than most on restoring cars and boats, where do you live that it is so cold, I live in texas and the temp here is 60 deg, with light rain, and it is only 8am sunday morning. We need some of your weather to help with the deer hunting, opening day it was 85, too hot for hunting.

Not rods but still worth mentioning:

Still have:

'73 Chevy Suburban Dually, 383, lowered etc.

Hey dude,
"but it's just a Dodge.", most of the Street Rodders I know would modify any brand they own. It really depends on the particular car and it's original configuration (factory options). Like I wouldn't modify a factory F.I. 283 57 Chevy Belair, but a 6 cyl. 210 series would get the full treatment.
That Dodge sounds cool, I like the idea of the Hemi in there too. My favorite Mopar street rod is a 40-41 Dodge pick-up.
I'd like to see pic's of that 66 Stevens ya got there.

Well some day when I figure out how to post pictures on my brand new computer to this site. I will post pics of all my TOYS.....I HAVE A LARGE FLEET.
I was just going to put a big-block chev in my Dodge. But I was at a street rod show and saw a 40 Dodge coupe with a 392 Hemi... It looked pretty cool.
Up here in the northeast we have this stuff called RUST... SO alot of iron around here is a Fiberglass shell around the original car. Well maybe no that bad but close. This Dodge is in super nice shape. It was parked in 1950 and has been in a garage ever since. I can't wait to start working on it but its snowmobile time now.

Sorry fellas my kids arnt here to show me how to use this dam thing but I just had to chime in. Rods are just street boats. I have a 48 willys wagon that I cut the back half of the top off and made an elcamino in essence cut out the floor boards and fire wall and replaced with 63 chevy pu sheet metal. Way cool.have pics if interested. Also working on a 58 chev suburban. 4" chop 1 1/2 dome channel center post removed and you guessed it an oppitional third door suicide of cource. have pics if interested.

I been into anything that can be modified. I would love you guys to send me pics on your toys or projects. You might even see them on my web site HPC. Got everything there from Crosleys to Funnycars. My first "car" was a 40 Ford P.U. My first boat was a 66 Miller flattie. I currently race a 66 Chevelle. http://www.highperformancecars.com

Does a 72' daily driver Pinto count as a street rod? I am currently purchasing some 20" rims for it. I know it sounds odd but it is really a fun car to drive because of its history. Nobody believes me but they are usually so stoked to go for a ride in her. You just don't see too many of them, i drive it for the attention good or bad its all fun. With my tax refund check I get some paint on her with a little minor maintenence and I'll be rolling. You wouldn't believe how many thumbs up I get when i crank the sound system also, This car is so much better than the Honda Accord i also have.

Blowin,
No offense, but this is what I classify as a streetrod...
