Went out today and the water was great. Some glass some areas had a slight ripple. Warmed up the boat and had a friend set his GPS up. We made
three full speed runs taching 5400 rpm with an A*B cut impeller we clocked
77.9 MPH on all three passes . This is a iron headed 514, I had 2 full gas tanks, another person and some tools in the boat. Soon I will have a place diverter on it and hope to be around 80mph on the GPS. Really happy with the boats performance. E:D

Nice. How much power is your 514 making?

75 miller,
I estimate around 500hp. E

Well hell yeah E,
77.9 with two full tanks, tools and a second body certainly equates to the likelyhood of breaking 80GPS without a passenger and tools, and maybe less fuel.
My boat has done 85.3 GPS on more than one occassion, but as soon as I add a passenger I am just below 80. Differnet hulls, yours and mine, but you get the idea...

Thanks lakes.....I appreciate all your help. combo worked out just the way
I wanted. Can't wait to get the place diverter on there. That should help a
bit. Bring a little more boat out of the water. E

That boat should do 80 easily once yah ditch a few pounds off her. You know who had a real hard running Ford powered boat was FoMoCo. His white and burgandy Kachina ran real hard. Upper 80's, low 90's if I remember right.

Lose the baggage and go fast...
I need to blow my engine up this summer so I have a legit reason to turn my 460 into a monster too.
