Do any of you guy have a problem with your seat having a slight lean. My seats lean slighty to the inside and i cant for the line of me get them to level off with out adding a bunch of shims. Does anyone else have this problem. If you look at this pic you can see the passanger side leaning from right to left.

Can you trim the pedestals down to the right angle making the seats sit straight.

Mine lean.
I shimmed em.
Probably the best way would be to lay a board across the stringers and bolt your mounts so it's level all the way across.
Personally I didn't want to drill more holes, and I got no problem with a couple shims that nobody can see anyway.

What im noticing dan is that the small mounting stringer is higher then the stringer its self. I was able to level it out using stringer washers between the bracket and the seat base.
Now, does anyone think that will be ok using stringer washers as shims????????????????????????????????????????????

A slight lean can be shimmed. That lean is huge, take em out and fix the problem!

Ok, i added a 1/2 piece of wood between the mouth and the bracket. It seems to have leveled it off alot.
Dont mind my arm, trying to block the light

I shimmed till level. They have .5 inch strips of oak at Lowes or home depot. I used a couple of those stacked up and made everything jiffy.

Either the brackets or the stringers are crooked. Putting a 1/4 inch alum plate all the way across sometimes helps, but personally I'd make better [level] brackets. BL

Mine was the same way. I used angled aluminum to make the
mounts/pedestals/bases and got em as straight cross as I could.
They were still a little off and I used a 1/4" aluminum plate the same
size as the base area on the low side to shim it level.
I wouldn't recommend shimming it in one spot with the washers
because the seat bottom/wood will eventually warp without a
good solid platform to sit on.
I used 4" angle on the main stringers and 2" angle on the outboard
smaller stringers.
Originally I thought that just having the bases mounted to the main
stringers would be strong enough, but it ended up being too wobbly,
so I used the smaller aluminum stock to mount to the shorter abreviated
stringers.
In retrospect I could've dropped all the mounts down a couple inches
so the seat base would end up sitting right on the stringers, but I kinda
like em sitting up a little higher. It gives ya just a bit more leg room and
it doesn't feel like you're sitting on the floor.

P.S. Check out that high dollar custom deluxe fire extinguisher eh?
Talk about bling!

Talk about bling!I had them mounted just on the stringer but it seems the seats were to close together. I have 4 inch angle in the strunger and i cut some angle alum for the small stringer. I have it pretty level but there is still a small lean.
Im gunna scratch that for todat and head to 396's in a while to set the intake.
