Deb,
Not a lake. It is the Kanawha River in Charleston, WV. Very nice venue for pleasure boating. It flows right through the middle of town and has a beautiful view of the WV state capital building, complete with recently re-gilded gold dome. The river dumps into the Ohio River at Point Pleasant, WV, the sleepy little town that was depicted in the movie "The Mothman Chronicles" with Richard Gere. It was about the Silver Bridge falling into the Ohio River at the convergence of it and the Kanawha River, on Christmas eve. in the late 60's, resulting in the loss of many lives.
Sorry, didn't mean to turn this into a history lesson but once I get to talking about the place I live and love I sometimes get flowery.
