I have a question for the old and wise here that were running jets in the 70's back when I was riding my big-wheel trike. What would the MSRP of a 1978 Eliminator bubbledeck have been back in the day? 460 Ford powered. Just curious.

hmmmm, I bought my first jet boat in 1976, I think it was. The boat was a basic 1975 Tahiti Tiger, 455 Olds, Berk JC pump that was virtually new for $4,200.00. If memory serves me right, the Eliminators were in the $6,000. to $6,500.00 range for an 18'er. I didn't pay much attention to them as I knew they were out of the price range for a 19 year old.
With the Tahiti's, the BBC was a $150.00 upgrade, a SS impeller was either a $25. or $50. upgrade and an electric jetovator was another $100.00 +. That was a lot of money back then :D

Good stuff. $6k or so was probably some decent coin at the time.
As a sidenote, I bought my first boat in the summer of '91. I was 16. It was a 16.5' Enterprise hull with a Merc 80 outboard... ya know, the old one's that you shut off and flipped the firing order to run in reverse? Orange metal flake gel with a silver racing stripe down the center. Been hooked ever since.
