That looks good, but where is the box on the back of the sub?
I think your going to find you will have a major rattle trap unless you do something back there?

If your sub amp or deck has a subsonic filter....protect the sub and use it...

We thought at first we would have to built a box but found there is no rattle from the sub. It's in a pretty close box already. If i find later that it rattles I will have a box built...
Thanks

That speaker is not even made to run Free Air. Put a box on it. Does it sound muddy?

Yeah I going to put a box around that speaker.... Sounded good with music without alot of bass.... After I look at some of these post I checked out The sound in open space and really turned it up...... Sounds Good and very loud But the bass does drag a bit and rattle.....
I'll give you guys an update in a few days after the box is installed...
Thanks

Thank You
Professionally installed.. Yeah I think Under My Sink would have been a better place for My sub.... I took it back to the shop and They are trying to Minimize the rattle. They don't believe the rattle is cause of the speaker being out of a box.... They think it is the Dash... That dash unscrews and lifts off.... The bass sounds good but like one of those old cars the truck rattles.... I'll let you know what Happens.

Very nice setup.
I notice you have the new Clarion head unit. Does it send track/ title info to the remotes?

As has already been said a couple times...put that woofer in a SEALED box. Were they out of screws the right length for the wooofer?

I need to play with it some more But it does send Track info from the Ipod to both remotes & you able from the remote to switch tracks. But from the Sirius Radio it only list the Channel description? I haven't played a CD yet.... I'm taking it out this weekend for the first time after the install and will check it out.
Very nice setup.

The Screws were long in case I needed a box. But it sounds damn good with out a box. That area where the speaker is acts as a box. It's pretty well sealed... With that wide angle lens on my Camera may have made that space seen bigger? I listen to a lot of Hip-hop and it sounds good. I love my music very clean, clear & Loud.... We did have to tighten and seal a few things to stop the rattle. Sounds good now... I sat it the boat in my front yard and listen for listened for about 2 hours.
Thanks Guys

Hope it goes in garage at nite cause all the neighborhood kids now know you have a system in that thing.
Allthough it looks like a really nice hood.

I guess there are different definitions of "sounds good" ;) I can guarantee with any sort of volume and hip hop. that woofer is distorted as can be. That woofer is designed to be in a box much smaller than 1 cubic foot sealed and the area you have it in is NOT sealed and MUCH larger than 1cubic foot.
But what do I know?? ;)
And what would using long screws have anything to do with adding a box later? I question some of the things your shop told you:)
At least you enjoy it.

What I don't get is how a shop would even install any woofer free air that isn't designed to do that? Is it because they can get away with it? I would guess most people go to a shop because they don't have the knowledge to do it and trust what the dealer tells them. Just doesn't seem right to me.
