When I bought the house the builder told me the misting system in the ground would not work and they weren't going to fix it. So, I never did anything about it until my gardner was here and I asked him about it. He said he could fix it for me. He did and didn't even charge me anything. I can't wait to use this as the weather starts heating up. Kind of looks like a scary movie :)

I am going to cut back some of the plants. I have these kind of puff balls type plants that are going to go. I have already removed a lot of flowers and so forth.

Do you know how many pumps and what HP each ??

I think that is a bit overkill. But it sure will be nice on a hot day. Nice yard too.

Are you using a booster pump or just city water pressure? If city, what kind of nozzles are they?

DILLIGAF
03-31-2007, 07:43 AM
There is a pump and I do not know how much HP it is. It is about the size of a small mini-fridge.
Overkill? Ya, probably so but as it warms up it will evaporate a lot quicker. It is only about 65 here right now.
I just keep turning it on to check it out visually.....lol
Thanks for the compliment Grunion. I am at some point taking those palm trees off the island, dig down about 3 feet, put in a bar, a bridge to get to it and cover it with one of those palupas or whatever they are called. The thatch roof thing. If done right while sitting in there your head should be just above water level, while you face towards the sunset with a cold drink :)

That is really nice. The high pressure system works so much better.
How the hell do you skin and trim those palm trees without getting it all in your pool?
Beautiful backyard BTW.

D, I met the man who invented the hi-pressure mister systems down in Palm Springs about 20 years ago. Since then I bought one for our home in Boulder City. Wasn't as large a system as yours, used about a 1/2 hp motor and the pump put out about 1800 psi. Since then, everyone has something that works on city water pressure and they are just OK. Under 100 degrees outside, things tend to get wet, but as you said, when its 120, your won't be able to keep people away...

Thanks...I had them skinned once and will later on this year again. yes, it is messy but the pool is self cleaning plus I have a pool guy come by once a week. The pool is always crystal clear.

Very cool yard Tom. That misting system is tha Bomb right there. You will keep everyone happy when its 118 outside.
When I saw the palm trees on that Island...looks very cool but even better to read your going to take them out. I can see years down the road their root systems messing with your pool.

Thanks. Realistically I know those palm roots will eventually break thru the walls. Better to do some "preventative maintenance" and do something that I really want there rather than be forced to do something down the road.

After I left your place I was going straight home. Got some gas and headed into the casinos. Made quite a few dollars but didn't get home till 4AM. I did leave you guys a message. Ended up lounging by the pool and cleaning up stuff at the house. Plus with the wind picking up in the PM I don't think I would want to be on Mohave in the Spectra.
I hope my language wasn't too bad around the kids. I had a fun time laughing :)

I think the BBQ/Bar in teh center of the pool with a 4 post Palapa would be awesome. I would probably never launch if I could chill in the back yard.:D

BTW I leave early on Sundays also, the traffic is just a killer at 2 pm on the 91 or anyother way back in this place. I leave earlier then most, I am usaully on the road by 6 on Sundays if not a bit earlier. It's that no drinking thing.......Christina isn't always happy about the early leave though :D
