Why should you tell them???? If they do enough HI-PO motors then they should KNOW.

I just had mine done at Robs Machine in Hayward, 2 week turn around. Did the whole block ie; bore and hone, boil, line bore, cam bearings, rods ect. Also had valve job done on heads and resurface on both the block and heads. It was done on time and for quoted price. I would recomend them to anyone who is local out here to at least talk to.

I second lilrick's observation, if you don't trust them, go somewhere else. Upon first contact we specify what we will do, how much it will cost and why the build may be different than others. We also tell of what other similar work we have done and how well it worked. We also have records of every motor we assenble and what all of the clearances were. Accept no less. If the shop doesn't do very many boat motors, go elsewhere.Period. Read the car engine in a boat? article in last summers ***boat(the magazine),It is not up to you to educate these people.

its not that i do not trust him. they have been around for 30+ years. i myself was looking for some info to help myself and just double check everything.

30 years of building car engines has nothing to do with boat engines. I sense that you are not comfortable. I wish you luck. TIMINATOR

I've heard good things about Joey Grose and I believe he is in that neck of the woods!

ok things are sounding good ask just what he was going to bore to
and he said 6-6.5 when done.:D

That depends on piston alloy, skirt design, amount of boost, compression ratio, whether intercooled, and a few other things.... good luck. TIMINATOR
