Looking to rig up a rope deflector.Not really wanting to attach it to my scoop.any ideas or pics.Thanks for the input.

Hey Jim, this would be my opinon, I would go with something like you use, but a little different design, cause if you happen to do what happen at the last race you will rip the hole top of your motor off,, lol sorry for that, but freaked me out bro, let me know, I can give you some pretty good ideas! :D

Be a hack like me and bend one up out of 1/2 inch conduit from Home Depot! Passes rigorous IHBA inspection criteria.

I made the one for my Mom's hydro out of 7/8" SS Bimini top tubing. It's polished, easy to bend, and inexpensive. It's attached to the driveline tube and the top of the scoop with normal bimini top hardware. All of the stuff required is available at any West Marine store, or good upholstery shop. The mount on the scoop just has a spring loaded pin, for super easy removal. You could probably do something really similar without attaching to the scoop if you ran a second tube from the middle of the deflector down to the driveline tube.
