I am trying like hell to make a decision on 6.5 2ways but I am lost when it come's to sound ? One person Say's Hi -end speakers are the only way to go another Say's go for the mid line speaker? I just bought the BOAT and needless say, I'm making my 2nd mortgage(boat) payment and am trying to put in the least expensive system . I looking around the 2k range for equip and labor any suggestions on speakers and amp's:confused:

You may see my install Here

Here's a break Down of my cost... I think I got a pretty good deal? It going to take 2 full days to install...
By all means not top of the line but sounds Loud, Clear & way way better. I think I need a box built for that sub Though. The bass don't drag but it does rattle a little.. Not bad though...
My installs
Clarion CMD5 Radio Receiver
2 Clarion Remotes -1 at helm & 1 on swim platform
6 Kicker KM620 Speakers (debating whether I need 6 Speakers)
2 Kicker Amps 2X250 & 2X350
1 10" Kicker
IPod Adapter (Black Box)
Sirius Radio
I bought the stereo online for $250 e-bay new; Clarion CMD5 Radio Receiver
paid $150 for each remote;
The Ipod Black box was $100.00
I already had sirius radio but needed the clarion adapter $100.00
Cords for remotes $59 X 2 = $118
My Online order was $718.00
From the Dealer I bought
1 2X250 AMP $249.00
1 2X350 AMP $299.00
Kicker KM620 149.00 a Pair X 3 = $447.00
1 10" Kicker Speaker $69.00
Pay Dealer $1,064. for equipment and $750 to install Everything Listed = After Tax and Power Cords I pay the dealer a $2,042.00 Out the door.....
So everything together cost me $2,760.00

Anything with a metal dome tweeter will work best in a boat. Stick to lines like Memphis, Kicker, and any other mid level product. Run enough power and you will be happy. The higher end lines do sound nice but I would usually only recommend them for cars where you can tell the difference and where the money would be better spent.
