i keep that same one on my boat. I figure its better to have it and not need it rather then need it and not have it.

We used to give a few of those things away at the poker run. Of all the prizes given away - people wanted those, in fact they would kick, paw and claw each other to get one.
Soooo.....they must be good!:)

I'd much rather be overprepared than underprepared. I'd go for it. I carry a jump pack w/ me at all times b/c you never know when someone will need it...

Not overkill at all Juan. I've seen these on sale at West Marine for around $50. Probably be just fine for what you'd use it for and a lot cheaper. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/categoryg/10001/-1/10001/208/207/9/man/asc/0/grid

Thanks DJ, the one at WM looks like more of what I want, I don't need all the plugs and stuff, it is just for the boat and in case I drain the batteries playing the stereo.

I've got a more basic one, but wouldn't be without one on the boat anymore. I've needed it once, but have also helped out others w/it. Good thing to have, and doesn't really take up too much room for the peace of mind.

I have one and have not used it for my own boat but have loaned it out many times. Much better then cables. The extra accessories are cool. I have used the 12v for my spot light and other things when camping ect.

That'll do the job just fine Juan. Just don't forget to charge it up before you get on the water. :D I'll be picking one up myself as soon as its on sale again. :D

One like that saved my ass at the ramp once Juan. Fired it up from a DEAD ass battery no problems.

you know you can kick start or push start a boat so why not ,I have used mine a few times and other people on the river has need it, and a hell of a lot easier than trying to hook up jumper calbles

Do yourself a favor and don’t get cheap one. Personally I would not get one from the big warehouse stores. I like the first one as it secures the Clamps away. Notice they have a lot more power..these are pulling 1500-2000 amps. Most the warehouse store ones won't even give you this info and you can be sure they aren't close to these.

We take this one when we go camping, or if we go durring the middle of the week. Don't want to be stranded back in some cove with no boat traffic until Saturday!!!

I wouldn't leave the dock without it. I saw the smaller version at Costco last week and damn near bought it, although I already have the previous Costco model. This new one is surrounded in rubber and tucks nicely under the back seat.
Check the one at Costco, not found online, it is about $89.

I keep one in my boat all the time. I must have jumped 5 boats last summer. When someone asks ya for a jump, no sence messing around with cables. Infact I would rather not jump another boat from mine, just hand them the jump box. And good-to-go.
Darrell.

This one kicks ass.
You should see people faces that are trying to use cables then I whip this out. :D
