Take note of Ross' comment about testing on Friday. In another post he mentioned "paid" testing if the rescue team was on site....Either the "No testing" was written before the paid testing was thought of, or team rescue won't be there.......Jim you got any info about this? Or the Boss man could enlighten us.........Everyone needs to be aware of the issue, and the bottom line..........Ray

I understand where the course is...its normally a no wake zone.....but why cant anyone go test on any other area of the river?
maybe to answer my own question.....is it because most of the boats racing arent registered vessles?

Yes you can test elsewhere on the river, but Boatcops buddies will be out in force......Noise, Coast Guard required equipment, and other boaters on the water are a few reasons why it is crap shoot. Some race boats carry Reg #s some don't. And most importantly, a safety crew!!!!! No matter how good, or how easy you'll take it, there are things that can and do go wrong. Ask the right turn jetboater from Ming............MP
PS: The area by the Bluewater is CRIT patroled, but they don't have a boat, I guess they could wait for you on the ramp.......It is CG regulated and Lapaz county doesn't go there, ask Boatcop........

Rick, just tell Ross you are pals with Maxi, see how much the price changes. On the other hand, the pink boat would've been a nice addition to SCSC's stable of rescue boats......You know, kind of a "donation" to the cause..Then you might've had some bargining power, like Maxi.........Will that be a check or a money order, $ir........MP

Ross responded to my email about the testing. He has the 3 day wake zone permit, he is working on APBA insurance and Team Rescue. The testing would be after the course is set up, and an ambulance standing by. The ambulance is why it has to be a "paid" test session........AND team rescue will also be involved with the capsule certs Friday..........So, we're still hanging tight, as Jim requested........Ray

Ray,
It looks like we are still in a holding pattern. Talked to Ross this afternoon and he said he will let us know as soon as possible. So don't start dumping fuel yet. You might be up there for an hour or two.
Ross has asked that everyone gets their entry in as soon as possible. This makes it alot easier on Ann Hoban, the week before the race. Remember guys She is a volunteer.

One more thing guys, IF Ross can put together a Friday test session we need to support it. He says the cost will just be to cover the Ambulance and rescue will be there. A great oppertunity to dial 'um in prior to race day, and it could establish a future policy about pre race testing. If SCSC has Ming from noon Friday, then we pay SCSC and NOT Kern Co. parks dept......And it would be Friday, not Thursday morning........This could work out cool.......Ray
Very good point Ray !
