View Full Version : Speaking of Satellite, what do I need to do?

I have the KVH M3 mobile satellite on my new boat, but I have cox cable, telephone, internet at home.
I guess I need Direct TV for the boat now, but is there a way to simply pay a friend who has Direct TV for use of it as an additional receiver?
How do I find out what the charges would be without calling Direct TV?

adding an additional "room" is like $4.99 a month. we have direct tv at our Ca house and added the "room" so we have it in havi also.

To be eligible for some programming services, such as seasonal sports subscriptions, Pay Per View ordering with your remote control, certain features of advanced receivers and secondary subscriptions on additional receivers, we require that your DIRECTV System be continuously connected to a land-based phone line. Therefore, some mobile customers are not eligible for these benefits.
sounds you will be able to get all the regular programming just not the special or pay per view stuff by adding the reciever for the $4.99.

you can but you have to call it in and it cost more :(

Make sure your friend has all the good channels because you will only get what he has ordered. On a good note, when you call in and order porn you can charge it to his bill. :D

I remembered that my brother has satellite on his motorhome and custom F650, so he is getting me set up for my boat.
Promlem solved. :D
