Ok I'm getting down to the end of my winter resto of the Biese and I have no idea how to set up my cav control system. I have a up-down pedal, Rayson handle, and dual springs. The plate is all redone and ready. Does anyone have some nice shots of their setups to give me a starting point. Also I don't see how the pedal over rides the handle. Also how much does the plate move? It looks to me to be about a 1/4 inch, am I right? The boat was not set up when I got it so I have no base point to start with. Any info helps.

Your plate needs to move at least 1 inch down. I hope to have 1 1/2 on my Biese.
This is Tom Buckles boat.

When guys run a up-down pedal do they also use a handle? I really only need the down but I don't understand how it over rides the handle. Can the springs be mounted anywhere along the stringer or should they back towards the back 1/3 of the boat like I've seen in some pictures?

When you push on the pedal, it pulls the rod through therefore the handle is only holding its same position.

The handle is set to the max. that you are allowing the boat to be free. Handle back for rough water forward for smoother. As for the up peddle, takes alot of balls at speed to stand on it, things can happen very quickly. Fly the boat bark the motor crash on the chime and hope you don't walk it again. Or never get out of it.
