Sitting on the beach in Parker, the kids asleep, the wife in a coma class sleep from all her pain pills laying in bed from her brutal surgery.
Chuck and Julie, a cool couple camp'd with us when we were on the back row said "lets go to the Bluewater".
Hell yes,, off we went.
Chuck and Julie are on their first trip back to Parker since an accident a few years ago on their Harley at Sturgis.
They got T-bonned by another Harley that blew a stop sign.
Lots of stacker trailers with all the Harley folks in camp. I'll post pix when I get home,, ya gotta check out some of these rigs, one is so gigantic ya can almost see it from RD's. I think that's the rage now.
Class A MoHo with a stacker.
One couple we met, Bill and Charlotte, hauls their GMC, rhino and Harleys in theirs.
A humongous rig.
OK, we roll into the Bluewater and it's packed with Easter guests,, and has a fun pulse.
We sit down to Blackjack with two other heavy gamblers, and everyone is betting the limit except me of course,, I'm betting near the $5 min, but start raising as the table heats up.
The table is mostly winning and Chuck and Julie have almost 3 grand winnings, I'm up to about $300 and they run in a mechanic dealer.
All the sudden our "push's" are collected like a loss, we quickly brought that to their attention and they paid us,, but it kept happening, along with a "ya wanna hit that 20?" with the dealer showing a 5 cruiseline kinda pressure.
Rapid fire dealing sometimes before we get the bet placed. All the unwelcome signs of a mechanic we all agreed.
The game got un-comfortable, so we quit and went to the center bar.
The lazy bartenders of past have been ejected, and the newer ones aren't much better, still crap service.
But damn,, draft beer tastes soo excellent at the Bluewater center bar.
Prime rib buffet Saturday every nite at the Bluewater and it's really good.
My wife is a serious tipper, we always tip well, but honesly, it's not appreciated, nor does it effect attitude or service for the better at the Bluewater. They just don't care.
The menu has been changed at the Willows. Favorite items gone, and the prices considerable higher. The cool old indian lady waiter and the excellent rotund Asian kid have quit (he's now bartending at the Emerald cove bar.)
We then headed to the Del Rio.
New owner operator, Antony.
Nice guy, several rounds on the house, two nice looking chix bartenders that are fun, and Kyle is back for another summer too.
In two weeks a big birthday party for Becky the hard working bartender,, it'll be legendary.
Nice crowd at the Del Rio.
We ran a tab almost a hundred bones, buying bomb pop and slippery nipple shots and rounds for everyone then headed back to Emerald on the back trail.
Ready to hit it again this Friday night.
Gonna be a fun summer at the river.
Right now, sitting on the Parker beach, sippin Capt'n & coke watchin' the sunset, temp 80, pretty girls everywhere.
Soon it'll be time for a golfcart safari with the neighbors.
