Got my boat and took alot of the graphics off. Looking for some nice graphics for the boat. Nothing crazy. Checked out raceline digital. Looks like they have what I'm looking for. Has onyone dealt with them or any other vinyl graphics place? All of thier ebay stuff looks like it has been removed. 3 colors, nothing crazy. In AZ. Thanks Joe

Talk to Dennis, H20ski2Fast here on the boards. He can do stuff from mild to wild. He has done a bunch of stuff for me and it has always turned out better than expected. :)

Is there any problem with Vinyl graphics and bumpers?
That is the only drawback I could see with Vinyl......a dock bumper rubbing against it and tearing/peeling it.

Dennis owns a company called SignFx, he's done all my graphics work, and stickers and everytime I'm pleasantly surprised at the outcome. He's expensive (I'll tell you up front) but this literally is a case of you get what you pay for. All Vinyls are not created equal.. I'm no expert on them, but I can tell you that some fade over time, others don't hold up to the elements, some are printed some are cut out of a sheet.. some are both etc.. etc..
Dennis is a boater, and he's done names for boats, #'s, and ENTIRE GRAHPIC wraps for boats (I'll post some pictures). I've seen a few of the boats around Parker with his vinyl that's 3+ years old and still looks like it's brand new. I've seen others that fade out after 4 - 6 weekends on the water..
Here's a couple of things he's done.
Stacy's boat (My girlfriends #'s) sorry it's no the best picture in the world.

Yes, like Dan said, I have them on the Cig. It was part of a project for...eh-hum, Powerboat mag (sorry to mention the comp:D ) Anyway, The Graphics Co. (http://www.thegraphicsco.com/) did our boat. Kim, the owner, did an AWESOME job!
From start to finish they were great. I had the basic design in my head and explained it to her, sent her some examples and she drew it up on cad then laid it out on 3M vinyl.
She said it'd be good for 3-5 years. I thought to myself "yea right, if I get 2 years out of it, I'd be happy!" Well, I used the crap out it this season and was VERY happy with how well it held up.
Couple of examples:
They did say to get the flat style fenders so they dont roll (I've failed to get them so far:rolleyes: but I do have covers on my fenders). Anyway, Dan and I took both the cigs up to Naciamento and tied up to a buddies dock on the main water way (VERY ROUGH!). Dan was against the dock and I was side tied to him. The f*ckin wake was out of control slamming up against the docks and boats thus slamming the boats into each other (with fenders). I was stressed! But after a few hours I checked it and no a single tear, wear, rip, or blemish.
Another example: we were out at the Channel Islands parade of lights and it started pooooooring on us. I was kind've in a hurry as I came into dock and dock checked (not too hard) the starboard side of the boat. There was a long white streak from the dock bumper that lines the wood. I took some wax the next day and polished it out.
Like I said, I've been really happy with it and would definately recommend it (and the Graphics Co.) to anyone!
If you do the math it makes sense too.
A paint job would be prob. at least 25k. If the vinyl lasts 5 years then you could do a knew/updated vinyl scheme every 5 years 30 years and be about the same price as the original paint job.
I figure in a couple of years when/if this stuff gets beat, I'll slap another design on it. Something probably a little less loud, little more subtle. We'll see.
If you have any other questions, call Kim or ask me. Good luck.

How well does the vinyl hold up on boats that actually ride "in" the water?:D

My girl is learning how to run her boat around the docks... and while I'll say she's picking it up fast she definately put those stickers to the test over the weekend. :D
They held up fine, she touched two docks both of which hit the stickers, and there is nothing visible that I can see on them. Should be noted that boat docks had rubber edges.

Liquid, that is amazing. Anyone else? Here is a pic of my boat. Pretty easy job. It's really small too. I also need my name made. I think I have the right measurement. As you can see, the scarab is pretty faded. Gues I should just peel it off? Thanks Joe
