Nostalgia drag pics of my dad

Welcome back, and thanks for posting the wonderful pics and sharing the memories. I was racing outboards at the time (very similar to the 3-F boat in one of your pics), and the real studs of the day were the people who could afford and did race boats like your dad's. It's really great to see you post again dos - Those pictures are really something - check out that one of the boat on the trailer in the water but the trailer isn't hooked up to anything.

Awesome pics! Thank you for the walk down memory lane... In the pictures where your dad crashed at Ming, they mention the boat owner Les Kepler. Do you know if that is the same Les Kepler that became a World of Outlaw sprint car owner? A Les Kepler owned the Coors Light car that Brad Doty drove in the late 80's...

Dos, my dad drag raced at marine staduim in the 50's and later built over 200 v-drives in northern Calif. in the 60's and early 70's. These pics brought back a ton of memory and history of our sport.
I was talking with my dad the other night and he told me his first boat was either going to be a bristol or a mandella. He chose bristol cause he could get it faster. He put his head down and then said "you know I always regreted not buying a mandella".
