This A.M. it is at 439 ft and capacity is 466.
Its is low but coming up daily. Browns Hobie parking lot is filling up with water and they pulled the dock.
below is a web cam link.

Correct! :D
Annual Boat Use Pass Price: $75.00
The new Annual Boat Use Pass is a small sticker that is placed on the Annual Day Use or the Golden Poppy Annual Day Use hang tag or a separate card for those who already have their passes and for Golden Bear Pass users. This pass waves boat launching fees for all motorized vessels and for sailboats over 8'. If the craft is a sailboat that is under the length limit or is not motorized, no boat launch fee is assessed; therefore, no Annual Boat Use Pass is needed.
$200 total, but if you go at least 10 times it SHOULD pay for itself.....though I don't remember what Folsom is charging for Day Use + Boat Launch this year.

The Jerk
04-12-2007, 10:53 AM
its 15 bucks for day use+boat launch(i didnt have a check with me or enough cash last sunday) so youd have to go 13.3333333333333333 times to pay for itself... well worth it....

The lake level is fine for right now but my 25+ years of experience out at Folsom tells me it will probably be too low to boat on by sometime mid to end of July unless we get a few major storms between now and then. When I say too low to boat on I mean somewhere below the 420' elevation mark.

the river flow folks who work for my firm told me that Folsom should be high all summer (like the last few years). they said the water levels this year are determined by rainfall from 2 years ago. doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but they are the scientists and I'm just a bean counter.

Look at the inflow compared to years past. It doesn't take an expert to see the flows are down...way down. Folsom fills largely off of the snow pack and the snow pack is very weak at best. The lake is almost 30' from being full. I seriosly doubt the lake will even get within 10' of its capacity. I just checked the inflow and it is around 2500 CFS. This time last year it was 20000 CFS.

UJ,
Not a view from our house but I wish we had such a view.
The power of digital zoom lens (and cropping) works wonders.:D :D :D plus because of the wind, it was the clearest I have seen in a while, giving me the pic posted that looked like it was closer than it was-smoke and mirrors. :)
My doctor tells me if I want to enjoy retirement then I had better start walking a mile a day so I am blessed with a view on one of my walks out of da' hills-unfortunately, I have to travel over-the-meadow and through the woods to capture such a shot. When I hear you guys runnin through the canyons (sweet) I trip over-myself cutting through the neighbors overgrowth just trying to catch an action shot of you guys...'some day i will'.;)
Be safe out there
