It would be hard to find a better handling faster running boat with equivalent power in its size...plus it handles the rough stuff better than any other boat in its size and even better than alot of bigger boats.

Because the service from the builder is second to none. Styling plays a big role as well as handling. Anybody want a brand new, not even wet yet F-26.

LMAO so instead of dropping some coin on one boat you don't use, you went and got another one that didn't run to justify the first one or what? :D :D
I dunno about buying mine, I originally only went to look at it to get the phone number/info on it for someone I worked with. Liked what I saw, it was very affordable, so I bought it myself..... :D

I hate to say it, but finding a company that could do an awesome gel coat (although our next boat will be solid white or grey.LOL) that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Overall, I thought our boat was an awesome buy! It looks fricken awesome, gets good mileage, runs over 60, lots of room, and is overall a great boat.
For the money there is not a builder on the market that offers a gel as nice as the one we got. I am amazed at how out of date and not up to par with the fades, schemes, etc many of the manufactures are when it comes to gel coats.
The next boat will be more about speed and less about the gel.

Got a good deal and it was a great alternate to PWC's.
Hope to eventually save for something along the lines of an Ultra 26 deck.

Lots of obvious reasons like price range etc. But this was my criteria if you will for what I would buy.
1. Drop out Bolsters....I love to stand and drive
2. Cuddy cabin for camping at Powell
3. 25-30 feet want to be able to handle big water with ease, but didnt want to buy a new tow vehicle.
4. Must be able to take it to Catalina
5. Must not have teal or hot pink anywhere (last boat was 1996 enough said)
6. Must be able to cruise at least 60 mph to keep up with my buddy's
In the end a 288 Sunsation fit the bill.

Because I could afford it. Paid cash. No financing. If my situation was different, I'd finance it, but this time around that wasn't the case. No regrets either.

Because I wanted a boat that has been proven to go fast, easily.
After taking a ride in one and feeling the way it handled and the acceleration, I was hooked! It was different than any other V-Drive I had been in or driven. Doing 100+mph with 600hp and turning harder than anything I have ever been in was the clincher.
Now, $15,000+ and 2 years later, I am still not in the water. But that is going to change soon...

I sold the jetboat because it kept breaking down all the time and bought a 21ft bayliner. That was the best boat I ever owned. It never broke down and was cheap to run. Kept that one for 5 years. When I moved to HB I got the bigger Eliminator so I could do Catalina runs.
You are all missing the real reason we spend the $ we do on boats though. it's all for the girls. If it wasn't for that little V inbetween their legs we would all still be living in caves.......

Benjhamina
04-12-2007, 10:46 AM
and yes, I did say the bayliner was better than the eliminator. IMHO

Several reasons, but the 3 main ones are,
1. finally had a place to keep a 26' boat
2. got tired of getting beatup in Havi with an 18' boat
3. got a smoking deal.

I bought my boat cause I had sold my Jeep TJ and I needed another endless money pit in which I could throw tons of cash in, and still have no resale value.
Actually A friend at work told me his wife was forcing him to sell his boat. All he knew is it was a Tahiti, and I had heard of Tahitis before. So I looked at it, and the hull was clean, needed paint, engine, wireing, seats, carpet, gauges. I paid $200 for the boat on trailer, and drove off with it. And the rest is history as they say!
We won't say how much more money I have put into it. :D

I disagree,
Most chics (and sandbar dorks) are afraid to ride in much less drive a "real" ***boat. Its not about the chics as you should be able to get them without material possessions. The chics you score because of a high dollar boat only like you for your $$ anyway and will move on to more $$$ eventually.
I bought my boats for the adrenaline rush.

I bought my boat because we have had several and boating is what my family likes to do. I bought the boat we did because it fit our needs and it was the most boat for the money. Not the cheapest. Rhett also treated us extremly well.

Decided Advantage
04-13-2007, 04:06 AM
Balance, quality, and value.
After owning a Baja for 3 years we knew we had to upgrade to a solid performer. There were a number of handling flaws and quality issues we had been sensitized to. We traveled the country testing different products and were surprised even shocked at the handling quirks some hulls exhibited.
A guy showing off an old 1995 Advantage Citation in HB got us interested in checking out Advantage. The number of old near perfect examples of Advantage products are on the water very weekend around LH is truly amazing. You can't argue with 10-20 year examples running around and never requiring gel or interior restoration. Advantage is doing more than a couple of things right. We went for a ride and loved the solid handling, quality, and value offered. After finishing up our search we came back to Advantage.
My wife claims it is our last boat. She might be right. :D
