As of this point in time, it is official that the guy buying my Carrera has backed out. :( So, unfortunately it is back on the market. Motor was already switched out to the 500efi, scoop added, hardware changed, bimini installed, hatch pad done, gel chips fixed, new carpet on bunks, fully detailed, sales price agreed, water test done, etc... It was a done deal and the guy was supposed to take possession on Monday. At the last minute the guy couldn't come up with the necessary cash to hold up his end of the deal. All work that was done on my end was for nothing. :(
Why do people get in to deals that they don't have the ability to complete? I really just do not get it. If you can't complete the deal, don't enter it at all. Now I am back to square 1 with having to re-sell the boat. :(
Oh well, now that the boat has the 500efi in it, I am going to run it until it sells. First weekend back on the water will be for the Heatwave. :)

Maybe you can repost some pics and details of the boat for sale? I'll keep my eyes open for potential buyers. My buddies have all been working tons of OT lately. Who knows? Maybe one of them has money burning a hole in they pocket.

We definitely need to meet up at some point in time. :) If you can get into the camping spots, we won't be hard to miss. ;) :D If not, we will have to figure out a meeting time & place. :)

Don't worry, I had enough security to make me come out ahead. The only thing that I got screwed on was the fact that I have to sell the boat again. :( Financially I came out just fine. :)

Here are some updated pictures of the boat. They are pretty bad, because they are on a camera phone, but you can get the idea. We added a bimini, scoop, rear hatch pad, swim step ladder, all new hardware, pop up cleats, step plates, etc... The boat looks like it just got off of the showroom floor. Not one thing on this boat that I would change at all! It looks like it has never gotten wet. :)

He realized that he was going to have to pay uncle sam for the sales tax. He said that he had enough $ for the boat, insurance, storage, etc... but not enough to pay the sales tax. :( Oh well, his loss. He took a MAJOR financial hit by backing out of the boat!

Well it sounds like you took his deposit. Good for you bro.
I didnt know you had to pay sales tax on a private party deal though? IMO the guy couldve found away if he put you through all that trouble.

I have the air filter. It was just off the boat. When I got the motor, the air filter was caked with dirt.

I am asking $75K now. According to NADA, the low retail of the boat is $79,375 and the high retail is $87,180. That also doesn't include a lot of the real nice goodies that are included with the boat. NADA mainly is for the offshore boater with Galley, Fishing hardware, etc... Very limited on options for the performance boater.
I didn't get a "deposit" per say, but I did have his engine, drive, gimbal, steering, motor mounts, etc... I had to pay him off to keep his stuff, but the deal did come out in my favor. :) It was worth the headache.

The deal was not considered private party. The boat has never left Carrera's inventory and has never been registered. No taxes have ever been paid on the boat. He needed it as a "new boat" that has never been registered for some financial games he was going to play. It was his deal and I stayed out of it. I just wanted my money.
Just to avoid the headache, I am going to register it this week. I will then run it for the summer or until it sells. :)

Seems like a great price for such a clean ride. As the weather warms up, I am sure the buyers will too.:) :)
