I would like to put a clutch in my boat instead of a trans. Does anybody see any problems with a clutch only? I dont use reverse as its worthless in the boat (plus whirlaway in the near future) and ive never really needed 2 gear in past boats, i just want to be able to pop out of gear to clean it out(mech. injection) and coming into docking area. I not a huge fan of paddling through traffic.:)

I had a Lenco in mine with a manual shifter. It worked fantastic. Pebo on the boards has it now. I'm thinkin he likes it too.
I drove it all the way through the havi channel once. Blown injected with a 37 gear. Ah the good old days.

Do those setups have any issues with heat or alot of use(like a marina)? Do they last and if so who has one for a chevy that they want to sell?

Bobbo ,Thanks it looks like a deal but I think i'm going to need more clutch than that for a blown motor in a heavier boat.:) Do they make a heavier duty one that can handle the tq. of a blown motor without going to a fuel setup? That video was nice and shows exactly why i want a clutch.

Have seen one guy use an automotive clutch in blown alcohol hydro(may be the one in the video, I couldn't open it). It can be a really nice looking package with chrome scatter shield and nice billet pedal or handle and bracketry.

Lenco makes one for your application w/more clutch disc in it, you can also set it up with an air shifter. Lenco's # is 619-287-2500
