JL W6 v2 Discontinued?

So I am designing my system for my new boat, and heard that all of JL's dual voice coil speakers have been discontinued, due to one of the voice coils burning out. Is there any truth to that? I was thinking about running 3 or 4 JLw6v2s, but not if I can't get them or if there is an inherant flaw. I currently run 2 of these subs and have had no issues whatsoever. Any help?

i have 2 10w6v2's ran them im my jet boat pulled them when i sold it and now run them in my truck. never had any problems with them. and i crank them hard. been in my truck about a year and a half.

I have 3 of them in my car now, and 4 in the truck and im not nice to them either, and no problems!

Just checked JLs website and there doesn't seem to be any truth to the statement. All DVC drivers are still there.
So next question: I'm gonna do a downward firing box under the rear seat. The boat is a Nordic Rage 25. I am torn between 2-13w7s with 1 1000w JL amp each sub, or trying to squeeze in 4 12'w6v2s With 2 1000w JL amps. Anyone had any experience with either of these setups? I used to be a car stereo installer, but that was long ago and I'm so far out of the loop today... ;)

:) Im running 4 13w6s with 2 1000/1 in a slot ported box. Hits really hard and sounds awesome. Could not of ask for anything better.

Where did you put the box? I am going to run sealed boxes, as they require less space. Could you put some pics up?
