I don't know about the rest of the jet boats, but running in havasu is not worth the hassle (cops) or potential damage to my boat from the rough water in the afternoon when the wind kicks up.

You know I can't say for sure if I'm going to drive the boat or truck, due to the weather not being that warm in the morning. But one way or another I'll be there at 10 - 10:30 maybe earlier so I can gamble a bit.

I got an update from the hillbillys at PT 7. Weather was crappy but improved all day long, river is full of water and low crowds..Weather forcast says conditions will improve for tomorrow... HBjets motor quit at 95 mph halfway through a radar gun pass in his CP today after the dist. cap fell off :confused: :rolleyes: the thing hooked in and just missed the beach, destroyed the cap and rotor in the process, hopefully he can score a replacement out there.
Sounds like there will be plenty of hardware showing up tomorrow, some lurkers are supposed to show up in the AM. Ive got my money on the new flat out of water wheel to take the PT hat, rumor has it 2 blown alky placecrafts are out there as well...

I still can't understand it... but I went for a pass and at 95 the motor back fired and shut off. First the boat sent straight but then started to turn towards the beach. My first reaction was to turn away and the boat stopped turning and then came to a stop. I didn't hit the beach or come too close. I went to start the boat again and it wouldn't lite. Got up and looked around and noticed the dist cap sitting on top of the driveline being held up by the plug wires and the rotor was no where to be found. The next day Cyclone and I visted every single autoparts store open and were able to find a cap and rotor for my boat. (Car Quest for the cap and Checker for the rotor) Installed the new parts and everything was fine.
Thanks to everyone that helped from the tow, to the launch ramp usage, to helping me locate parts.
All I can think of is the screws that hold the rotor in backed out. I did find one of them sitting on the dist. when I noticed the cap was blown off. Other then that the boat ran perfect all weekend. Scariest ride I have ever had in a boat for sure...
