Well, here is the story.
One of my closest friends, who is from Michigan, came out to the ADR last year and fell in love with her. Kevin has been a boater for most of his adult life and loved the way the 27' Dana handled the "big" water on Mohave. Since most of his boating is done on Lake Michigan, he knows what "big" water is.
Selling the boat, out of state helps in two ways. First, I won't have to watch as she cruises through the channel with someone else is behind the wheel. I hate to think that at my age, I have emotional attachment to an lifeless object but, I do when it comes to this boat.
Second, I really think getting the Dana brand out to Lake Michigan will help more people see what a true California custom boat is like. Since 99%of the boats in that region are production boats, I thought it would help Dana Performance Boats break out of the regional slump a lot of manufactures get themselves into.
We will miss her when she goes. We will miss the way she reminds people on Lake Havasu, that we as Americans must "Never Forget" the sacrifices others have made and still make, that allow us to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

Unless there is another boat just like this. And I doubt it. Saw her going East on I-40 at 3:00pm just before Park Moabi. Very beautiful boat.
