thanks that is the first overhaul and clean up that engine has got in almost 30 years.

What kind of engine stand are you using? My bigblock looks like its about to cripple my engine stand. Looks great, Im in the process of doing the same to my engine. I dig the colors.

You gotta use a 4 point stand. If your using a 3 point then forget about bolting on the heads!
4 point = Big Block
3 point = Sm Block
I learned the hard way once!

i just pulled my engine outta the daycruiser and am freshening it up too. rings and bearings and cam and so on, nothin big but it will look a hell of alot better, and i havent seen a timing chain thats not a roller in a longggg time, i guess this one hasent been overhauled in a while:D

same here it still had the old style timing chain in it as well

the stand is from sams club it is a goodyear brand. it is a 4 point! ill post a few in the boat in a while!

Mine is a three point and is suffering right now. I have a floor jack supporting the front of the engine just in case. It'll be back in the boat soon I hope. I gotta get some dough together and get myself a 4 point engine stand. I want to build a blower motor fort his boat one day and I know that this stand will not cut it then!

no im waiting on my little girl to show her face in the world so i am not taking any trips to far from the house till after she is here! whats the avi?

it cost me about 1300.00 all said and done but that was with some pretty decent hookups! i bought a master kit, the headers from a guy on the boards, roller rockers from a buddy who owns the machine shop that did my machine work and the heads came off a 396 they are closed chamber !

the Avi is a resort and casino on the river just up the ways from Needles Ca. Im hoping for a decent turn out of jet boaters and whoever wants to show up. Congrats on your daughter! Children are a lot of fun. (although I don't have any of my own yet) I grew up in boats and I have tons of good memories.

thanks i have a son that is 3 and he loves the boat! atleast i got a boy first now i dont have so much to worry about you now what i mean! i hope to start makin out to a couple of get-to-gethers next year or late this summer. i just need to get the dam thing done before i make to many plans!

it will! it was not changed much just some roller rockers new cam and the basics! o ya and some closed camber heads off a 396 for a little compression it will be fun im sure. loud my wife kinda got scared when i was breaken in the cam she has to wear ear muffs now!
