As much as I hate to do this... I am looking for a new home for my 9 year old Miniature American Eskimo.
He really needs an owner who is home more often and can give him more attention, like an elderly couple or a newly married couple with no kids. Or a single person who isn't always gone.
Here is my problem. We are gone all day as my wife and I both work long hours, so he is unattended all day and tries to escape the yard (due to boredom). He really needs a home where someone can give him more attention. I think he might need another doggie friend to occupy his time as well.
He is great around kids. He gets along fine with other dogs who are in his yard. He does not like other dogs outside of his yard or when he is on a leash. He is VERY smart and very playful for 9 years old. He just LOVES attention and unfortunately with work and two kids he does not get the attention he needs.
Neutered, no health problems, all shots.
Loves to go on the boat and will go in the water, reluctantly at first.
Very protective. Great watchdog. ALWAYS has to be where you are at!
I hate to give him away but I really want him to get the attention he deserves.
This breed typically lives to be around 15 years old.
If you know anyone who can take care of this little guy, please let me know.

Good luck finding a home. I would take him but already have 2 dogs and also work. My mini Amaerican Eskimo also was an escape artist and got run over and killed. I wouldn't want that to happen again to your baby or I'd take him in a heart beat.

What a cute pup. My daughter recently lost one simular to this one. She'd probably take him in a hurry, but she lives in Maryland and we aren't planning any road trips for awhile.

What a pretty dog. Id like to have it but I have another dog and I would need them to get along. It would also spend many weekends on the beach at the river where there are many other dog running around... So what do you mean by in his yard? I would like to be able to take him around with me.
I have another playfull dog that kodiak could play with while Im at work. She a 3 year old Geman Shepard runt. She just never grew...She was also a rescue. I really love dogs and would have one of the best enviorments for another one. The only thing Im worried about is him getting along with other dogs?
A few other questions:
- Does he sleep inside?
- Does he like car rides
- Is he well behaved?..Like does he come to you when you call him?

He is about 22 lbs. He sleeps inside. In fact he will stay indoors all day and just sleep, so he would even be a good condo dog. He can hold it for 8-10 hours, as he is usually indoors all day when we are at work. He likes to sleep on the bed at night, or he sleeps next to my 2 year old daughters bed. He is extremely protective of his family.
Other Dogs in his yard are fine. Dogs on the other side of the fence he barks at and does not like. (It must be a protective/turf thing). He likes dogs outside of his yard as long as he is not on a leash. Not that he gets aggressive but he will bark and not want to really mingle, but never tried to bite. Off the leash he wants to play with everyone.
He does not stay near you off the leash like a Lab might, so he doesn't hang out in my garage with me, he would wander. When he does get out he usually cruises for about 20 minutes then comes home. I always find him sleeping on my front porch when he gets out and I finally come home.
He is fine in the car, but takes him a few minutes to settle down. Once he is comfortable that you are going somewhere he will curl up on th backseat and sleep. He doesn't puke in the car.
He likes the boat, but when on shore he would need to be tied up otherwise he will jump off the boat and wander again. He will go in the water but you have to put him in, he will not jump in himself.
He love to run and is FAST! He will chase a thrown ball and come back, but not give it to you. You have to trick it away from him then he will chase it again. He loves the splash balls from the pool.
He doesn't do tricks, but he will sit on command and he listens pretty well.
Eskimos are a nervous breed and over the years I have just realized that he HATES to be left alone. He wants to be with you no matter what. I think he gets out of the yard because he is trying to find me. I feel bad. I was going to get another dog to entertain him, but if that doesn't work then I have another dog to worry about.
For a 9 year old dog he is extremely playful and loves to run. People ask if he is a puppy. He can leap a 6 foot block wall, that is my biggest problem.
Gets along with cats too, I have 2 of them. But he will let them know they shouldn't come near his food until he is done. They chase each other around the house and play hide and seek.
I keep him shaved and for a white dog he keeps pretty clean, even when he has been in the mud.
He is a very easy dog to care for, he just needs attention and someone who is home more than we are.
He is a great dog! :(

What a great deal for someone who wants a dog.
Maybe you should offer up a free plane ticket to new home.
We have two already.

Will he be around at RRX-6?
Leslie and I are thinking about a dog, but would have to see if he gets along with the kids first.
