Does anyone know how to adjust a rideplate? Do you set it so it is running parallel with the keel or do I set it a few degrees down, or a few degrees up? And would a diverter help much with one of these. Any info on them would help, thanks. http://i17.tinypic.com/2nq5pxu.jpg

Looks like another Hondo Pantera or copy of...I was told start at 2 degrees up from the keel and run it. Fine tune from there.

I start at 1.5* up ... see how it runs, then make adjustments 1/2 degree up and then a pass ... if it's better, try another 1/2 degree ... sometimes you have to go back the other way if it gets loose or worse ... get or borrow a digital level that reads out degrees to make it simple ...
it would look like this:
first you zero the level to the keel ...

then you measure the ride plate in comparision ...

make sure you have someone on shore watching the attitude of the boat to make sure that you are not "flying" the nose too much ...
have fun ...

never go negative in the ride plate setting, the results are not pleasant
