Hope you enjoy, I've spent LOTS AND LOTS of time on this. I finally got around to polishing one of these and WOW what a difference it makes. Only 5 minutes of extra work does wonders.

Kurtis-
Nice stuff! Do you offer classes? :-) I'm not out to build valve covers, but I do have ideas on other things I'd like to build for my boat!

Sweet!!!!!! Those would look perfect on my motor.
Quick question. What spark plug wires do you reccomend? I have tried MSD and MOROSO wires but my problem is that the round "caps" do not seal the holes in the valve covers tightly. Any ideas?
Thanks.

THANKS EVERYONE!! Unfortunate part about it is that this particular cover is no-good. I experimented with catalyst and the rail warped. I can use it on my motor but I wouldnt sell it to anyone.

Omega21, I'm no expert on some of this stuff, but i feel very confident about the area I am working in. It all depends on what you want to make. Some stuff is easier and layable like fiberglass and other things need a little special equipment. If you let me know what you want to make I can make suggestions that may at least help. :D

Thanks.I havent ever used the rubber boots that fit on the valve cover. I have always just ran the wire through the hole. I have to be careful and NOT pull the plugs if the motor may have been recently wet. If the tubes are pulled out, water that is pooled up will fall straight in the cylinder and right into the oil pan. I usually blow out the spark plug tubes before I unscrew them. Do you have the PAW catalog? There are a couple of places to try that have really good classified sections frequented by 392 people
www.powerplayhemi.com (http://www.powerplayhemi.com) check the swap meet and/or leave an ad
www.nitronic.com (http://www.nitronic.com) You'll find most 392 stuff here is AA or similar, but post an add, most guys have the stuff and dont bother trying to sell it. I actually have a set of the rails that go on the valve covers somewhere around here. They push down on the washers that are on the tubes and seal them up, along with hide the wires.

The only problem with creating a new mold is the TIME invloved with getting it from an idea to an operable mold. I see what they meant when they told me the most valuable part of a manufacturing facility is its molds. Restofreak is a mold maker (I think) I'm sure he knows this. I think I will make some for the chevy soon. I have one here that I can take out to the lake and it runs over 7200rpm. I can put my test stuff on for a try. So at least the stuff will be tested before its made.
Anything else i make I will shoot a picture up here for you guys to see.
Another project coming up... I bought a 4 port hilborn and am going to fab a fiber scoop for it.. :D

Kurtis: Good info, so are you saying that it is "SAFE" for me to run this motor in my boat without the seals around the valve cover holes? If it is then I will keep my set of MSD wires because they work well and look good. I will be sure to NOT pull any plugs before drying the tubes out completely and blowing all the water out.
Thanks again.

Are you talkin' bout the four port "vertical" injection http://www.hilborninjection.com/images/671GMCA.jpg :) :) :) Thats the one... I'm going to try and make one similar to the scoop for the other square port injectors used on some of the T/F dragsters with the upright injectors. The scoop will be made in a different way from the valve covers, similar to a regular fiberglass scoop. Your familiar with that process. I will probably core it with k-mat. the stuff is super strong but is difficult to paste in double 90 degree bends. I made a scoop for my 2 carbs with the stuff. Very rigid and about 1/4 to 3/8 thick when all done. Just takes a while to lay up wink

If they have it in purple the color should come out very nice. The red I have turns a couple shades darker once injected. I'm going to try blue next and it should be a nice deep blue and black. I'm going to ask next week. I myself wanted to see if they had a purple since i thought it would look awesome. I'm going to run the injection on my hydro. I had soo many problems with my carbs that I had to do it. Or, thats how my wife sees it right now wink

Thanks again.Yes you can. I've never had a problem at all. I have forgot to check the tubes for water twice. Both times I had to change my oil from the mistake.

Kurtis500, I don't know how deep you plan on going with this but I would possibly be interested in a purple scoop for a PGF if you ever got board and made a mold for it.

Ok here it goes. I don't want to sound stupid, but what exactly is Carbon fiber anyway? Is it just like Glass only fibers of Carbon?

Stronger, lighter..They make Indy cars out of Carbon fiber/Kevlar....

I had a friend whose uncle works @ Hercules in Utah and he had carbon fiber drink coasters @ his house. Super light and does not flex at all!
Carbon shatters in an impact and the kevlar is to hold it all together (whats left to hold together eek! ).

One more set of BBC covers will be sold as soon as they are done. That is if they clear my headers of course. :D
