I know there was a thread on this a few months ago. But if anyone has this radar give me a little feedback, I'm thinking about picking one up before the first trip out this weekend.
Thanx for the help
Eric

Second the V1. I had an Escort SR2 (I think it is) Still liked the V1 better.

Vaseline 1. ;)
I know... I always get it up the ass on the 10 when I'm hauling the mail. Could have bought 2 radar detectors with what my last ticket cost!
Fun stretch of road though...

Thats what I had, wasnt the sr2. Nearly 4x the cost of the V1 and went off on alert at everything. I ended up driving around with it off cause it was so damn annoying.

Valentine 1 is the way to go. I bought it because of what people here said about it, and they were right. Had the Escort, and it now lives in a box in the garage.

Without question, the detector of the future has arrived with the new Escort 9500i. Tests show this innovative unit sets a new standard for functionality, usability and upgradeability. It has earned its place as my number one pick for 2007.

I have the pasport 8500 and like it a lot, ESPECIALLY on rice road. My buddy just got the Valentine and said it performs equal to mine. I do notce a big difference in range by mounting it higher on the windshield.

V1 love mine.
You can get in to the programming of the detector and make numerous changes to set your preferences.
I have X shut off, and a threshold on K so that it gives me a visual on anything under 5 LEDs, but mutes the audible until it hits 6 LEDs of the signal lasts more than 10 seconds. It's eliminated the nusance alarms.
My V1 picks up radar looooooooong before you see the source, especially on open roads like the 10 or 40. Plus as goofy as the arrows are, they do help when trying to determine if the source is in front of behind. I also like the bogey counter that tells me how many sources of radar are present. Saves you from the cops that tend to stagger themseleves on the road.
Passport, Escort or V1 spend the money and get a good one. I've had my share of cheap ones and you end up turning them off. It's a waste of money to go cheap and think you will have the same level or protection.

Damn, I guess that's the kind of stuff you can do if you actually read the owner's manual huh??? :D :D :D

True! I found most of it because I was trying to do something else. I had mine for 3 years before I figured out the automute of lower K signals :D
Toby, it's all confusing. Go with any high end detector and you should be fine. Most of the guys on the BMW boards rave about the V1 so that's what I bought. I love it.
