If you love this breed we know why. Living with them has changed our lives. This former ancient fighting/hunting dog is an excellent guard dog that protects the home with courage, but not aggression.
Not one given to barking without a good reason. The Bordeaux is a gentle, calm, sensitive dog that forms a strong bond with his owner and is very affectionate with children. They will willingly accept other household pets when introduced to them when young.
This breed detests solitude as they associate separation from their family as punishment. They are very much house dogs but need outside time also. A couple hours of activity a day should do.

To most peoples suprise, most Mastiffs do very well in smaller environments, as they are on the less active side.
Awesome Pups..

Thanks...No they don't need aot of room and prefer to be inside with the family. The are active but not as much as other breeds.
Ours love the lake and boat. They go on every Havasu trip with us.:D

I don't know much about this breed....I have a rottwieller that is ageing and we love him like one of the kids....Are they easy to house break? With a full papered breed what would you have to feed them? Anything special? Are females better than male? I live on five acres, do they like to run or are they more of a relaxed dog?...
Thanx I know these are stupid questions but I am interested and these are the questions that come to mind...We have had Rotties for a while and thought about going a different route..It seems no campground in the world will accept a Rottie..Its a shame to because our dog just wants to be loved, He is so wonderfull....

not to thread jump just want to know what campgrounds say no to rotties.i have 2 and NEVER have i been asked to leave anywhere..I was once asked to please run a tighter line and when i asked why she said your dogs are attack dogs. I told her to come closer and pet them...
THey both started to lick her to death...i guess in that case they are attack dogs....RIP lady snowbird :D

Nice looking dogs. I would take one if I had a house. For anyone looking for a dog, this breed is great. I have a friend who has one. These dogs are good with kids. Not real hyper and a really mello dog when indoors. About the size of a lab, just more muscular. These dogs will go quick. Good luck!

I REALLY want one of these. We have always had labs in the past. Does this breed have any skin allergy probs? Is their skin very oily (like labs)? What size was the father of these dogs. Would probably want a male, just curious of size. Any special foods they eat? Thanks in advance.
Oh yeah..........if we buy one, could you deslobber them before we picked up:D :D

I have a Dogue DeBordeaux that we got from a breeder recommended by H20Advantage. We would never own another breed. The puppies are beautiful. They don't slobber like in the movie. The amazing thing about these dogs is that they don't bark. The only time they bark is when they hear something unusual or the doorbell. The most alert dog I have ever seen. My dog loves the boat and plays well with the kitty (except for bowling him over)
Best dogs!

Well I think he was missing you guys too. Everyone was in the x-pen asleep and he was crying and climbing the sides. I took him out and he came into the family room and hung out with his mom and dad for awhile.
Finally sent him to bed with a little resistance on his part. Bet he sleeps with someone Thursday night. :D

Diane & Gentry, you're teasing us with the pics! We love Penny so much it's tempting not to get one of her sisters. We're looking forward to our first river trip of the year, hopefully in 2 weeks. We can't wait to socialize Penny with the water. LLGirl, Butch looks so good, we hope you're enjoying him as much as we are with ours! We're so hooked on the dogues.:D

The thing that is great about these dogs is that they don't bark. The only time they bark is when they hear something strange then they are on full alert

CJ is going to her new Vegas family tomorrow night.

Ok - so I want to know when this "don't bark" thing starts!! Butch's new thing is to bark, growl and bite at us(in a playful demeaner)!! Thankfully he's doing it while wagging his tail! He's stubborn just like our youngest!
edited to clarify what my wife said. Mrll

We now have three (3) girls available, the guy from Vegas had to bow out today due to a landlord vs. Big Dog on the property issue.
