tach drive?

Hi everybody have a ? to see if anybody can give me answers. The mech tach drive that comes off the gear box locked up and twisted apart the short piece of cable drive inside the gearbox. how easy to rebuild get parts do i need to take front cover where tach drive mounts to to fish out broke piece, any problem with removing this cover?

You can take the cover off, however you must put back the same amount of gaskets. Those gaskets are also shims for the gear box. I have used an easy out to get broken cables out.
