Well im new to jet boats and went to look at a 79 Charger mini-day and found some issues.
1. The stringers that the motor mounts to are glassed but the glass is seperated from the wood. Does this mean they are rotted inside.
2. The floor under the driver area was slighly soft but more then that it made a cracking sound when I pushed hard with my heel. The guy said they reglassed the floors a few years back. Was the cracking sound me cracking the fiber glass or could it be the wood?
Thanks....I dont want to buy a big project.

Chances are all of that wood is in need of replacement.
Just my $0.02

Just because he re-glassed it doesn't mean that he fixed the dry rot problem. If the wood is separated from glass, it is done. I just fixed a boat, new floors and new stringers, about 40hours in work, keep looking....

step away from that boat, or offer him half his asking price;) if the stinger even look weak, or the floor gives alittle under my weight, i would walk away this time of yr. you'll spend the next month doin glass work:mad:

unless its a smoking deal walk. Its a 2 very long weekends( 12ish hours a day, or a month of normal.) to repair all that.
