can a 427 make the tork of a 454 or not worth the time its a 350 pd cp tunnel , i found a 427 short block & steel crank for $600 ,cant find 454 short block ?

What do you plan on using it for?? Sounds like a good deal to me. I dont think there would be a drastic difference in torque, and the 427 would be better for higher rpm with lower piston speeds...more cubes is always nice too tho...

All a 454 is is a factory stroked 427. The 427 has 3.75" stroke while the 454 has a 4" stroke. The bore is exactly the same, so I'm assuming it's the same exact block.
You could probably make it into a 454 by replacing the crank with a 454 crank if you wanted to.

yes and no a 454 block can go 427 but a non cleneced 427 block cant go 454 is what a under stand ,i havent seen ths one yet so i dont know if it is

I believe that is correct but don't quote me on it. If this is the case, I'm sure any machine shop can clearance a block for ya.

I had a 427 L88 in a 18.5 Challenger jet for years. Ran really well. CI is hp, how much do you need? Just match the impellar to hp and the boat will run great.

I suscribe to the no replacement for displacement theory. If you decide you want a 454, I have a steel crank just polished if you need one.
At the price of stroker kits, put in a 4.250 and make it a 489 or 496

the 427 is a tall block gen 5 what rod do i use someone said i have to use a longer rod with a standerd 427 piston
