Those "those damn PWC" racers raced on Sunday during the staff/rescue/patrol 10 minute lunch break so they wouldn't interfere with the rest of the schedule. They also combined both of their heats to one so they wouldn't be in the way of the boats. I had to allow the staff to eat otherwise they won't show up at the next race so it was mighty nice that they offered to keep the schedule moving especially during the break. The cracker's had to have 2 qualifiers, 2 last chances and a final so it with all the qualifiers done we were moving as fast as we could safely do it. Remember we had accidents, boats went into the toolies and lot's and lot's of tow in's which burned a lot of time. I was pushing as fast as I could safely push the staff and racers without compromising safety. It would have been suicide to put any flatbottom classes out there after 2:30 p.m. when the wind came up and stayed and it killed me that I had to cancel the balance of the heats (6 races left) when it was apparent the races couldn't continue due to wind.
Also, those "damn PWC" racer's go out and tow boats off the course, help turn boats over that have flipped, etc. they aren't your typical PWC rider's like you get on the river on a non-race weekend, they respect the boats and the water and are racers just the same as the rest of the classes and deserve the same respect.

Ok, but its going to be $expensive$, I only recouped $60 of the $240 in gas I spent to show up. I left parker with a full tank of gas and only made it to cabazon before I had to refill. F@#kin wind!

Great Pic's and Don, yes, sure did. One of those "Damn PWC" racers again, trying to help his buddy out and pull the trailer out, hit the gas a little too hard on his buddies fiancee's brand new 4WD GMC and "high sided it" on the yellow poles. Security found me and I grabbed the gradall and went down there (the North ramp) and lifted 'er up and off the pole. The poor guy that did it almost became the first incident of the weekend. Luckily the new trucks don't have any fans or water pumps up front so he landed in "no mans" land between the suspension and front piece so when I lifted it up there was almost no damage to the vehicle other than some yellow paint on the bottom of the bumper when it went over it.
Now, remember I didn't say they were smart, just deserve a little respect.
LOL!

i hear ya. its just frustrating to see them yo yo's on PWC's on the river then go to the race and seeing them some more. HA. just cant win against them. another good thing you left out is probably the entry fee they paid to help organize and fund this event. porta potties aint cheap these days and there must have at least been 10 of them.

i coundn't remember the number of the boat you were with. kept thinkin' it ended in an 8. i did see you once that i recognized yuh but we were leavin' and you were on the other side of the upper lot.figured i'd see yuh sunday and that didn't happen. we got there kinda late 'cause we had some stuff we had to do first. i was up on that grassy hill on sunday with the dogs on ski rope.what sucks is now that i'm home i'm realizing that a lot of the people that looked familiar to me i've met before or recognize them now anyway. being shy sucks, lol. i'll definantly catch yuh at the next one. -jas

I will post the results shortly.
