I have a golden retriever and have made an appt. with the vet for her. My dog is walking in circles and into things, scratching the ground like she's trying to get something, licking the carpet and throwing up. Half the day she is just fine and then out of the blue these symptoms. Has anybody else's dog done this?

My guess would be an ear infection. Sounds like her equilibrium is messed up.

Same thing happening to my cat. She walks with her head slightly tilted.
Took her to the vet. Ears looked fine. Put her in heavy duty antibiotic shot for three weeks in a row just in case. She got slightly better, but is still not right.
Sorry I could not be of more help.

Kind of sounds like what happen to RD's dog.
Hopefully just an ear infection.

My Bloodhound, Sampson had a bad habit of licking the carpet all the time. I took him to the Vet who told me that Sampson just thinks he's a lesbian.

Fatty is doing much better today. I didn't realize just how fat she's getting. I need to cut back on the snacks. No yaking today; however, still licking the carpet. She actually played today with the duck... and is eating like a pig. I think I will wait on the vet and see how she does tomorrow. I gave her medicine for her ears, the stuff Robbie passed down, maybe it helped. :)
