I am planning a trip to Havasu the second week in May. I have been to Havasu and Parker before but never up river and I was am planning to run up river to needles or Laughlin. Are there any floating bars like Roadrunner in Parker or any place you can dock and stop and have a few drinks and maybe lunch.
Thanks for the help

Continue up river a few miles and there is Lazy Harrys on the AZ side. They serve ice cold tallboys there for a buck fitty all day long. Eats are good too.

I would guess it's about 10 miles or so. It's in a little channel inlet next to Rotary Park.

RCB, Can you elaborate…I have never been here before and a new place sounds great. How would you get there from the bridge (I 40) RR tracks etc running UP RIVER…how far past the gorge is it…Thanks for the tip…:D

Harry's isn't actually floating on the water but it is right next to it. If you know where the Avi Hotel and Casino is I'd say it's 4 or 5 miles up river from there. Here is a cheezy map that I found and a website link. Hope it helps. I was just there last weekend and it is still standing. LOL!

Excellent, Thank you...
For the life of me I can't remember where this would be located..I assume it's on the "BullHead" side of the river...is there a sign or something?

You need to be aware of a couple of places where it gets pretty shallow along your cruise up river, one is right around the Avi, it's pretty shallow in the morning and also the inlet to Lazy Harry's is Sunshine marina, gets pretty shallow too... The cold tallboys and Nascar races are pretty nice at Lazy Harrys, have a great time. :)

SMW, if you're not in a jetboat, I'd be following a river regular (who drives an outdrive) upstream if I were you. Lots of folks ruin outdrives and props between Needles Bridge and Laughlin, and it's a miserable float home with no propulsion.

Lazy Harry's IS a cool lil place. That is a FAR ASS trek though from Havi on water. Topock is the spot. Water levels are iffy up past Avi. It helps to know that part of the river. Especially later in the afternoon. You have to keep your eyes open for the small cove entrance for Lazy Harry's.

LOL! NOPE!:D Topock is nice...but nothing like the bars in Parker. Needles is more of a nice family atmosphere.;)

We haven't been to Lazy Harrys in a few years but it used to be reasonable prices and not too bad food.
Did it change? New owner or something?
It's located in Divorce Cove, just past the big pipe/cable crossing over the river.
10 minutes South of Laughlin.
Used to love that place.

So where is Topock at on these nice maps being shown on this thread? I guess my next question is, If i want to go to the River and maybe stay at AVI and head down where are the good spots to hit before the 40 and is that a long haul and whats the water level's like usually? Also, i have kids and well i dont want to hang with a bunch of old people but yet some cool kats.

Not sure why anyone would want to go anyplace besides Roadrunner. The water is deep, the people are shallow, and always fun to watch the drunks.:)

I just wanted to point out that this thread is actually about boating on the river.
Good job people. :D
I ran my V-drive flat up and down from casinos to needles many times back some 20 years ago.
Keep in mind my draft at speed would be the prop and rudder. I hit the prop many times so there are many places where the water is only a foot deep or less so following someone in the know is very important on that stretch of water. There is a deeper cut of water as the current moves down you just have to know how to follow it. As you motor you will head up river on the Nevada side and someties on the AZ side, back and forth to follow this cut so to speak.
Kind of how its done for lack of a better way to describe it. This is why you need some experience if you have boat parts hanging down.

OCM thanks for the heads up on the shollow water I will be sure to watch out I have a jet but still need to becarefull of those sandbars.

LMAO! Have a good time, we are heading up there ourselves in a couple hours!;) ;)
The river in Needles is a lil shallow...but not as bad as everyone makes it seem. Just watch the water...there is a shallow spot in Needles & another spot in Bullhead. We have a 24ft Cheetah & never have had a problem.;)
