View Full Version : 278lb 19 TPR Shadow

Here is the latest 19 out of the mold. It is all carbon fiber/resin infused/foam cored. It came in at 278lbs complete with stringers and bulkheads. What is really different is the fact that is not a flexi flyer. This boat is solid. Should be intersting to see what it will do this year at the drags.

Very nice! What's the average weight of a standard layup?

A normal river lay up would be about 700 lbs. A normal hand laid fibergalss race lay up can get as low as 300 to 350 lbs, but would be very flimsy and weak. An infused fiberglass race lay up would be 450 lbs, but stiff and strong. We wanted the boat to be under 350 and stiff. We are more than happy with the results. Mike Miller will be racing this boat this year at the drags.

Just wanted to say that came out SSSIIIICCCKKKK!!!! :)
You should consider doing a big 27, with that look on the outside!

John,
Thanks for providing all of us with some specifics.
I agree with RD. A 26 or 27 Shadow with that look would be exceptional.

HOLY ****. That thing is AWESOME.
What power?
530 inch, 1200hp just on the engine. 1500hp with nitrous. The boat should do 135 on the engine and hopefully get over 140 on the bottle.

Nice pistol there Mike,
Good luck with it, like you'll need any. Bottle Rocket II?
Two bad ass Ultras? Just not fair/lol. There has to be a Hot Boat mag spread on both your boats, and throw John's in for good measure.

I think I stand a much better chance at a motor vs. bottle match-up.

Flippin it tomorrow so call me and let me know what you want to do. I think your going to like the keel i put on it. After talking to some of the other people in ubfj we decided a reverse hook would suit you best.:D Have to even the playing field somehow.
Call me in the morning and let me know what you want to do.

i have great news for you Mike. While your boat was at Sofa's, I talked him into adding one of my custom self-ejecting, dimpled ride plates. I know you are concerned about all the competition in UBFJ so i figured i'd help ya out with some top secret parts. you can thank me later. :D

It's the overlap on the carbon fiber. It is way more noticable in that picture than in person.
