Assholeholic,
Man, your first post on this forum and you have to run your mouth. I don't see much bragging going on in this section... Like 126driver said, try the Jet Talk forum. Or better yet, try what he does and run 110mph and then turn left-along with ten other boats! Then come back and tell us how bad you are.

Hey bro, maybe we are proud of how fast we are or aren't. Maybe going 80 or 90 isn't very fast to you but just think what an accomplishment it is for a person like myself who started out with a 50 mph jet boat. The 30 or 40mph gain in less than 2 years is pretty rewarding. No sponsors brother just side jobs and hard work. Shit, some of us only want to go 80 or 90, I myself have set a goal for and even hundi (100)and when I make it(and I will) it will be great. Oh Ya, by the way I have a 468

Your cool---this isn't the dragboat forums--most of the guys here are lake guys and some are first timers that really need help--if some of us 100 mph boats are giving out some smack info, then please, jump in an save us--the more info a guy can learn about his boat, the safer his ride is gona be, and what it takes to do 100 mph safely---You have my respect to run a TAF--I think they are the finest boats on the water, and they are a trick deal to set up--

This forum is pretty cool, not many smack talkers here so don't confuse us with the jet board. A few of them have snuck in here a couple of times to try to start shit, we usually send 'em packing. You found out the hard way so in the future act like a gentleman. We do.

10-4 on that one S&S. I thought of something else that may be interesting also. The only guys running those numbers (168-172) in the recent past in the TAF class were named Greg Cooper, Willie Lawrence, or Johnny Heideman, none of the Dons are running that mph. I bet this actor is really slapping his knee at his own made up racing character.

No I haven't GPS it yet, still working out the bugs can't hold the throttle down long enough to see. She pulls real hard though.
From what I know it is a 1972 powercraft. Yeah I haven't heard of it either.

Costello
07-16-2002, 01:26 PM
Stab, I'm going from memory here as I'm at work, BLURRED VISION still holds the e.t. record at 6.66 in San Diego from back in 1995 or 96 when John Morris was still doing the driving chores. The mph record is still at 172 and change I believe, with Greg Cooper driving Rick Jackson's FLATZILLA and I think that was set in 1997. That hull is now Chuck & Sue Heiddeman's NIGHTMARE out of Washington, which just ran an astounding 176mph at Red Bluff this year, with a Shotgun Ford for power no less. The Heiddeman's are very cool people and great competitors. I wish Johnny could have backed up the 176, but it was not to be. Earl Smith is the crew cheif over there, and he has worked wonders with their "Blue Oval" program. The closest anyone has come to running a new e.t. record has been Eric Morris in his BAD INFLUENCE Canyon, which crashed this year as DRESSED IN DRAG. Eric ran a 6.63 once last year, but the course was said to be 25 feet short. He came close also last year in Augusta, with a 6.73 and that was 100% legit. I don't recall anyone by the name of Alcoleholic having shit to do with any of these successful TAF teams. These guys I listed above, as well as so many others, have made the TAF class one of the premier classes of boat racing to watch.

Costello, I think that Ken singleton in the High Risk boat is running some consistent numbers in TAF, I knew him when he had a lake boat and it didn't handle right so, ALCOLEHOLIC, guess what my dumb ass set the plates for him and it did a lot better, even with my limited mechanical skills, however on the HiTek-RedNek PGF, I never set my own plates or built my engines, why, because I had enough to do driving that wild POS, and earning enough money to keep my wrench employed and the boat going down the road to races.

Joe Don, Ken Singleton is one of the many others I referred to, past and present, who make the class a pleasure. I believe Ken is running some steady low 6.80's and using a RBR Howard, the only one in the class.

Driving in Havasu yesterday. Was on Cataract Dr. - all white fifth wheel trailer with Alcoleholic TAF on the trailer. Older Chevy dually with big goofy looking sleeper box on it. Directory assistance says address goes to a John Hart. Is this you John? Or is it Don Hart?

dossangers-Ivory Hunter was Jim Ermshar's boat originally a Sanger bubbledeck 18'6" drag runner. He later raced a Mako I think under the same name. Don Ermshars boat was called Illusion back then also a Sanger bubbledeck. He has raced(and is racing) many hulls and many names since then.

dossangers,
Sounds like you visit my part of the river pretty frequently (Bullhead/Mohave Valley). To be honest with you, I'm not very impressed with the flats that run on that part of the river. I know of a select few that run over 100. I have buddies that run in the 80's and they talk a lot of shit. Let me know when your up that way. I'll send them your way to have an old sanger kick their ass.

Here's a video of my old man. He's not in the 160's but he's definately running over 135. I warn you about the filming. It's not the greatest.

Too bad you guys couldn't have hung around a little longer. I never did get the boat in the water as there was a long wait for the 1 tractor. That ramp was too steep and slick for my peg-leg pick up. Hope to see you guys again soon and not at work. :D

WILDERTHANU54 thanks. We enjoy kicking any hydro's a$$ when we get a chance. It's not very often that we run against them. I like running them or blown flats especially when you are a carbureted flat. :D :D
