If anyone in SoCal(or anywhere for that matter) is contemplating getting stuff annoed, I strongly recommend these guys. This is the fourth time I've used them, 2 boats and misc shit. They do fantastic work and the "Customer Service" couldn't be better!. They lost their ass on this job!. It cost me $130 to do the manifold and bells. I told them I needed it back quick so they sent it back with instructions how to clean it(hose it down with cold water). Apparently, there was something in the manifold that had a reaction and the anno didn't stick. Called them and they never questioned it, they said send it back overnight ($97) they finally had to bead blast it to make it stick, they sent it back overnight($97) so I could have it in time, how's that for customer service!!..

You can annodize anything aluminum. I had my Oberg
filter and intake manifolds for my baja annodized the same grey color. Came out bitchen. Still look good years later.

Aint that the truth!!!! I only saw one speed bump at Needles and...well we all saw the result.
Moral of the story: Watch for speed bumps when at full speed :D :D :D

Brian Yeah you can but it don't always come out the color you want. Notice the manifold if gray and the tops are black. The reason is the manifold was bead blasted to cover the pores and if you polish it sometimes you get spots all over it, totally weird!..

As far as cast aluminum, you do roll the dice with any plating, just the nature of cast metal and the alloys used.
In general the appearance of any plated part is directly related to the surface finish of the part itself. Usually the smoother the finish, the better the outcome.

With castings I would say it's the nature of the alloys because I've tried different cast parts and it comes out different?, just like billet, the different alloys will have a different shade. But with castings, there is a major difference from a raw casting and a polished one as you can see on my unit and both are done in flat black, go figure!..
