MT STRUT GOES ALL THE WAY THROUGH MY HULL. I SUPPORT IT WITH BRACKETS OF BOTH SIDES OF IT, ALONG WITH TWO MORE RUNNING TO THE ENGINE RAILS! IS THIS A GOOD SET UP, WHAT DOES EVERYONE ELSE USE? THE BOAT IS A '78 COLE 5/8 RUNNERBOTTOM. FIXING THE LEAK IN IT RIGHT KNOW! ! !

Wilder that sounds pretty stout. On my Sanger the runner is recessed where the base of the strut mounts so it is flush with the bottom. It bolts through the bottom with a 1/4" aluminum backing plate and then SS spacers topped by an aluminum crossbrace that bolts to the stringers and motor rails.

Here is a different one. Cougar had added an extra 1" of fiberglass and a plate above the strut. I felt it need braced to the stringers. I tied it in to the engine rail kit. Used the extra space to store the battery. http://free.***boat.net/gallery/Gearhead_Garage/Other_Equipment/Battery.JPG

I saw the pic. It was awesome. They do not like you linking to pics there. It messes with their bandwidth.

Here lately I post them on this site in the new area and then link to them. The best way is have an ISP that gives web space. There are other free places. Maybe someone else can recommend one.
