Whats the best place in Cancun? Need your input, never been there but am going in May, whats your picks? Thanx:)

Did the Moon Palace and the Sun Palace, The beach at the Moon is a lot different than up on the 7, but the surf can bit much on the main beach in Cancun. Check out TravelAdvisor.com or Expedia.com and read some of the trip reports. There are lots of decent places in Cancun and alot of not so good. Research is your best bet:)

We just got back from the Bahia Princepe (sp). Nice place. Buffet was good, place was clean.

The Island that most of all the hotels are on is shaped like a 7

Cancun is a zoo. Go down to Plya Del Carmen. Stay at one of the Palace resorts and you will not be dissapointed.
My wife and I spent 8 days there and loved it.

Have been to Cancun twice....Stayed the first time at Cancun palace, biggest of the palace resorts, about 10 min. away from downtown but the bus stop is not too far from there and you can commute back and forth for pennies. Was lots of fun and great service and food ..Second time around was the Riu las Americas...Bad ass place with good beer selection (Coronas and Modelo in bottles at the bars or draft if you in the pool..) great food...Rooms are great as well...They have a fridge in the rooms that they keep stocked with your choice of beer and they have 3 types of liquor (rum,tequila and vodka) in the room as well which is included...No room service though but all in all is great. Right in the middle of town and walking distance to the clubs.

I agree. Playa Del Carmen is much better. The Real Resorts are nice as well. We went last September.

unless you like the giant dance clubs where the spring break crowd hangs out goto playa del carmen.cancun is like las vegas on a sand bar and all the restaurents are overpriced.went to cancun once on a suntrips deal but i rented a car.went down to playa del carmen for a day-i will never go back to cancun.mostly just old folks laying around at the resort they are staying at.300 lb german guys in speedos.goto xcaret or 3 rivers park for a day.

Ill second Moons. I would do it again. It is family oriented though. Palace resorts are great. They do have an adult only one also.

We've been two times. First was Playa Del Sol. That place was decent. Free food and drinks. More of a party style hotel, alot of young people. The next time I went was at Gran Melia, stayed in the executive towers, food was decent, drinks were good. Nice beach, very clean, very nice employees. I loved it there. We just went out to eat, because the restaurants are so-so inside the hotel.
