Hydraulic roller cams

I have 2 built 502's (600 HP) nat. asp. running solid flat tappet cams-ultradyne 251-259 at .50 .601 .625 I want to get more HP what luck have you guys had with roller cams. Who is building the best cams and who makes the best lifters. I dont want to run a solid lifter cam. Last boat had one and it turned the engine into a valve dropper.Boat does 75 mph GPS at 5400 rpm with lab finished 26 bravo 1's on flat water. Haven't tried it out on 3 to 4 footers where I get max speed (something about my wife screeming slow down effects the right arm angle)

I'm running a Crane hydraulic roller that I spin to 6000 rpms, 878 hp. Haven't had any problems. A friends running a Lunati in his Daytona, same decent results, 891 hp. I have the same Lunati cam as my friend has in his Daytona, sitting in the garage, it made 697 hp in a 250 blown 454.
Lifters, used the GM rollers on the Lunati, and Crane on the Crane roller.

Yea but what about the guys running without the huffers (superchargers). Different cams for natural assperated engines. What specs. are you running. I dont want to turn over 5600-5800 RPM. I am running 10 to 1 CR. stock rec. port heads heavily worked heads by VALAKO RACE HEADS.Intake ports raised 1/2 inch to help the radius into the cylinder- 2.3 intake-stock size exhaust valves. Dart intake and HP 950 carb. LIGHTNING headers running almost dry (only steam comes out.) Engine has been machined to all proper specs.

Tinker, I'm running a Crower Cam Shaft 260/270 @ .050 .750 lift 112 center. I've got a 572ci NA motor with dart 360s, dart intake and a single 1150 dominator carb. This is a solid lifter cam, I just reread your post and realized that you were looking for hyd roller cams..

I am running a Crane hydraulic roller with jesel rockers, but this is also a blower motor. I have run the motor up to 5800 and the builder says it would be good to about 6200 (he would like me to keep it at 5800).

I can run these motors to 6000 but VALAKO said the heads are set for 5400 rpm. With the stock 23 mirage props and stock engines (385 hp)they ran 5100 rpm after engine build 5800 rpm. Now running 26 lab fin. BRAVO 1's at 5400rpm. Want to run hyd. roller for more hp and no more lash adj.

Tink,did you have problems with Ultradyne other than the cam being a solid lifter type? The cam in my 383 is an Ultradyne-hydrolic cam and has performed great. I checked around and found most manufacturers reccomending cam profiles that were real conservative for the package I was running. Aparently something happened to make these guy's so gunshy. I aked about a cam recomendation for my h.p. in these forums and so far only one reply. Guess my breath stinks. The Bum

No I don't have any problem with ultradyne I'm just looking to see what others think and what the best rollers are.

I have a 540 N/A
Heavy worked alum. Edelbrock RPM heads by Champion Marine in FL (2.3 and 1.9 valves)
Port matched Team G intake
Barry Grant 850 flowing 920 cfm
I am running a Crane hyd roller cam 139741 w/ 620 lift.
CMI's wet at exhaust pipes
10 to 1 compression
1300 elv. on 93 octane
Dyno hp was 683 @ 5680
Torque was 676 @ 4700
5680 was as high as they took the engine
Engine builder reccomended no higher than 5600 with roller cam.
This engine would idle @ 600 r's if I would let it. I can drop it in gear @ 600 and it doesn't stall. Couldn't ask for a easier running motor and hp isn't bad either.
