Had the chance today to go on a few speed runs in a new ZO6 Vette....all I can say is holy s***........ Anyone on here own one or driven one?

owned one for a while....Meat head car for sure but by far the best track car out of the box....
Nothing compares to it on track days...people stop and watch when a good driver is running.

This is how i see it...Track car for $70k that will spank $200,000 supers ALL DAY LONG...All the guidos that own them have sure killed it
Daily driver...no way. The suspension sucks for road bumps the motor pulls so hard that you will rip up tires on the street and what fun is it to
dive into the freeway on-ramps and then having to lay on the binders to sit in rush hour traffic.
Oh and the road noise...Good luck talking to anyone....

We have a new Z06 as one of the picture cars on shark! Thing is sick fast, can break the tires loose in the first 3 gears..... without touching the clutch! Of course me being a safety minded teamster, i wouldnt know... i just heard!

Current Z06 is a beast and IMHO too much car for the street in the hands of a inexperienced driver with a big check book.:)
It is bar none the fastest stock car I have ever driven.....
The next generation SS/Blue Devil will have a blown 6.2L like mentioned abobe and informed enthusiasts are saying it will have closer to 700hp:D

600hp is the new benchmark. My Vette has 400hp in front of a six speed automatic and it's enough to get seriously out of control in a hurry. I want a ZO6 next after the SS's come out, then step up again after a few years... Baby steps!

ZO6 must have tall gears to achieve 190 mph with 400 hp , hence the unimpressive 0-60 4.3 sec time . What's the LS-7 specs , anyone driven one ?
Just Googled the LS 7 = 505 HP with the top speed of 190 .

actually i currently own a year 2004 Z06 commemorative Le Mans edition (Z16). see pix below. its the 4th vette i have owned. vettes are just-a-cruzer for me. i gps'd 172 mph in my vette back when it was bone stock and hit 176 with intake & exhaust mods + a tune. if the new Z06 is packin 600+ hp then i will sell my current Z06 and buy the new one otherwise it won't be worth it to me because my viper and MY ford GT blow it away. of course my viper is modified and my GT is soon to be too. but then you can mod a Z06 too. but the viper and GT have a better build quality and a higher resale value so.......

I got my first vette back in 2000....modded the hell out of it. By the time I was done, I was able to spin my tires at 80 mph on the freeway...that was with the help of my little buddy in the trunk though :D

I drove one like the one in your picture . Not a 3.4 sec 0-60 car though . I'm done with muscle cars . Would like to have a Tesla that does 4 sec 0-60 with a max 130mph top speed . Battery is good to 100.000 miles .We have no stinking roads that's safe to do 190 anyways. :) . Happy tooling around the switchbacks in the 68 Lotus Super 7

My brother owns a 03 ZO6 (405hp) and after driving both, the new ZO6 is night and day as far as acceleration. I have owned a few stroked & supercharged mustangs that were at 450-500hp..and are no comparison what so ever. I was also amazed how well the traction control works. Took it off and it gets harry...Better know how to drive.

Lighter and more powerful then athe current Z06 should make it pretty damm exciting!!
MSRP is said to be around 125K Good luck getting one for under 150-175K as they are supposed to be more limited than the Z06.

Cobra R was a great collector car and very rare. Performance wise it will get smoked in all areas by the ZO6...I have always been a Mustang lover owning a few that were highly moded but that Vette is just SICK!! That Cobra R is a keeper for sure.
I remember when they had one of the 100 cobra R's at Irvine Ford for 100K
Car isn't all that fast but pretty hard to come by.
02-04 Z06 will kill the Cobra R
06 Z06 is in a whole other league

Whats better than the vette is one of my clients 07 911 Turbo Chrono with exhaust, chip, intake, etc.... So fast out of the hole, the front wheels smoke while trying to get traction in first and second gear.

Ok guys , yesterday Jay corrected me on the 0-60 times ,and am confused ;) . Forget about the upcoming SS or LS 7 , I was wondering about the 08 with the new 6.2 liter engine .
Found this little tidbit info >
The previous 6.0-liter becomes 6.2, and those 376 cubic inches equate to 430 hp, with torque bumped up to 424 lb-ft. In addition, there's a new high-flow cylinder head, larger valves, an acoustically-tuned intake manifold, and new beauty covers that, of course, say LS3. If you need even more hp, a dual-stage exhaust system is available, half an inch smaller than the Z06 version, that utilizes butterflies in the two inner pipes. The exhaust adds another 6 hp and 4 lb-ft, but even better, it adds the kind of raucous, popping exhaust note -- even on the automatic -- that let's everyone know you mean business. With all the mods, the top speed of the base Corvette gets up to 190 mph.
Inside, the sport shift has been retuned for quicker shifts and a more sporting feel, and offers a 0-60 time in just 4.3 seconds.

My brother owns a 03 ZO6 (405hp) and after driving both, the new ZO6 is night and day as far as acceleration. I have owned a few stroked & supercharged mustangs that were at 450-500hp..and are no comparison what so ever. I was also amazed how well the traction control works. Took it off and it gets harry...Better know how to drive.

sounds just like my viper. i permenently disabled the traction control in my Z06 with a lap traxx.

Not sure where you guys are reading, but the factory 0-60 on my Z06 is 4.0 seconds. The new one is ever so slightly faster.
Here is mine, its my daily driver (in Cleveland too :D ) and there really isn't much on the road that touches it.

I have driven the new one and love it, however, it didn't feel all that much faster.
