Had a Platinum card with them since 1996. Fixed 5.9% rate. No bill, over 30 days late, reported to the big 3, and new rate of 19.9% rate. They will not change it.
Paid my $1200 and closed it today. What BS.
Whats the best credit card out there right now with airline miles?

I get one of those pre-approved card applications on a daily basis from Capital One. Glad I never sent it in.

Me too, I figure a company with commercials as stupid as they have don't need my money!

We have a Citicard. Flew to Key West last year no charge on American Airlines. I have 4 more domestic flights available. I like it because you can spend your "points" on lots of things, including gift cards and trips to Vegas and appliances, things you might get others for Christmas if you wanted. And no annual fee. I cancelled my Capital One over the annual fee.

What's in my wallet? Citibank!!!!
My wife had a Cap One card forever, it was her first card, and she never missed or made a late payment. 6 months ago, she was making a payment online, and it posted after 3:00pm. They have a rule that after 3:00pm is next day.
To our surprise, late charge and 19.99% interest on the next statement!!!!
Cancelled the card, transferred the balance (all but $29 of it) and told them to go F themselves. It took 3 phone calls of 1/2 hour each for her to finally get them to remove the charge and clear the account.....
NEVER EVER go to Capital One, and if you have them, look toward changing, soon!!
Citi is not as great as they used to be, and I just went ahead and got a new GM Flex Card cuz it has a cool Bowtie on it. :D

Virtually all bank card companies suck. They will all ding you in the same manner given the chance. Late fees, interest hikes, the list goes on. They are there to make max $ possible. Period. They could give a shit if you close and account. There 10 more people waiting with new aps to bite on the teaser rates they offer to hook you.

Whats in your wallet?
.
Every card will have a hook to get you signed up....once reeled in you get put on the back burner.
They absolutely hate you if you pay it off each month without any interest charge:D

Try 5Star Bankcard Center 1-800-776-BANK(2265).
I have a fixed rate currently at 4.9% call them for rate. If you carry a balance every month this is the card to have--- best kept secret in the credit business.
I have had this one for about 15 years awesome rate but no air miles.

FUC* them too.
Two years ago wifey went to China. Before leaving she callled those fools and verified that her card wopuld be honored their. GUESS WHAT!!!!
No one to call, she e mailed me. I called them and sine I could not impersonate her voice well.."sorry sir you cannot have any dealings with her account!!" They just did not get it.
So Cancelled card, and shread the daily offers from them.
Then I called them and told them to stop sending me junk mail. Did not get that either
So my dog. Maggie the basset, assisted me in returning a message in one of their rather large mailing evvelopes for that zero interest offer.
THEY GOT THE MESSAGE.
