Take hwy 4 to hwy 49, make a right onto 49 and keep straight. You'll run right into it. I do a family and friends camping trip there every year. Very nice lake.

Pierre, How far are these spots from the water? I have not been to Melonees in quite a few years but we are going the weekend prior to this one and have a houseboat the entire week. Thanks! Traci

You should stay thur to the next weekend so we all could hook up. These sites in my opion are the only ones close to the water. Sites 113, 114, 115, 116, 117, 118 are all on the point. Depending on water level, ten feet to 20-30 yards. If I don't see yea have a good one.:)

We will have our houseboat parked in a cove near Fleming Meadows. Phil and Pierre are staying in the hookup sites at Fleming for their moho's. Since the water is down we have a lote of sandy shorline if you want to boat in camp. Just a thought.

We have been parking in an area called Graveyard. Very easy to find. As you leave the main body of water and have Fleming to you back there are some huge rocks (many as large as a dump truck) on you right. There are a few coves that have been very good. Check them out this weekend. We would love for you and Maggie to pitch a tent on top of the hill. All you would need is a tent, some food, and a cooler. You could use our BBQ, bathroom and what ever else you might need. We usually put a table and chairs on top for morning cup of Joe. Join us.

I just got back from new malones. i havent been there since highschool(10 years). I live about an hour from it and man it sure was nice even though the water is low(but niot bad). the main ramp at glory hole is closed but the smaller 4 lane one is open as well as a dirt one. and also a 3 or 4 laner over by swim beach is still fine as well. Great lake. cuz its free. ill be back there this weekend one of the day to hang longer. of course i forgot my camera.

Rick, we are leaving this Friday morning around 9 and should arrive the Moccasin point camp ground around 12:30 or so to start setting up our tent. I would guess we will finally get on the water around 2:00 or so. Hope you can make it this weekend. I will check out the sandy beach area you are talking about to see how it looks. Do you tie your house boat up in that area? Maggie has to visit her elderly aunt in Napa on the weekend of the 25th so she can't come up with me that weekend. I may go by myself and just sleep on my boat so I don't have to put a tent up if I can figure out the logistics. :idea: Let me know what you decide to do this weekend. :) Keith

OC is correct. No shade with the low water level. Bring shade. It is worth the haul. It is a very short ride from the launch ramp to the camp spot. We do get fairly early afternoon shade as we park on the east side of the hill. Still daily temps are usually right around 100F. Perfect for frosty beverages and night swims. Beaches are sandy but the hillside is as sandstone like material so make sure to bring sandals. Only three days away.
D21-High Fidelity is a great movie and Jack Black is a genious. We have a copy on the houseboat.

First; now I get up pretty early in the morning but Daveo 3:47 post time. For the love of Christ go back to bed. On a more serious note this week is dragging ass. I am not sure what time I will be up. The wife has the day off but I have to work until at least noon which pains me to no end, but if the kiddies don't have there air conditioning they don't get to start school on Monday. Friday night we were thinking about going up to our friends place in Sugar Pine, sleeping there and coming down Sat AM for some lake time. Ask your buddy if he wants to park in 49er bay. I forgot that with the water lever low that 49er bay is now a 5 mph zone and is now a very nice spot to park. Probably a better spot than Gravyard. Also a good spot to beach camp. It is close to Fleming, about a 5-8min. ride from the launch ramp. Let us know as we will plan to park there.:)

Yep that's it. Usually congested with wakboard boats but a few weeks ago they made it a 5 mph zone, which made it a great place to park a house boat.
I have attached a couple pictures of our houseboat. Is it Friday yet. Looks like we are staying thru Monday if anyone wants to extend the trip.

We have been parking in graveyard and just got word last weekend that they made 49er bay a 5 so we thought it would be a nice change but either spot is good with us.

Looks like I am taking Friday off so I should be there around noon. We are going get the houseboat serviced so we sould be in the cove around 2:00. Attached is the poker run weekend pictures.

Glad everyone had a good time. Thanks Anthony for the Kettle One, Vera for the Margarita's, Peire for 100+ mph run, and eveyone else who came. There was a lot going on Saturday so I hope everyone was take care of. Donna was sorry she got to spend so little time with all of you. Some she missed all together. She did however come up to speed and we were all tearing it up as the sun went down Saturday night. Thanks Jeff and Michelle.
Sunday was much more mellow with a run over to Moccosin. Donna and I had some quality rafting time with cocktails and then had a sunset Kayack trip. We go home yesterday afternoon.
