I am new here and have a stupid question. I have an 06' 38' Regal and want to upgrade the tv in the forward cabin from a 13" to a 23". I believe the stock tv runs on DC. Do I need to find a special DC tv to replace it or rewire it to run off the AC panel? Any other advice would be great. I also want to find a tv with built in HDTV

I see there have been a few lookers at this post, but no response. Hopefully it was not that stupid of a question!?!?!?

Not at all... I'd run it AC since its a viable option.

If you want built in HD on a 23" tv your best bet would be to go with an AC tv. Farenheight has a 23" DC LCD panel but no HD.

Well, I think I figured out I need a DC tv. Now I just need to find a 23" tv that has a HD tuner built in. Can't seem to find one like that. I want the HD, because it sounds like broadcast is going to that. In a few years you won't be able to pick up some channels without a tuner.

it is really tough to find a dc LCD panel that has HD inputs. Most manufacturers only make HD tuners for ac LCD panels. The demand is just greater for ac high def panels. Farenheight was supposed to have it available this year but it didn't happen.

If you use KVH or some other type of satellite service, all you need is a tv with component that can display hd.... HD tuner is in the satellite box...

Thanks for the input guys. I talked to the Regal tech yesterday and he said he could wire in a small inverter for DC to AC so I can purchase a high def AC tv. Can't wait!
