OK. Well, technically not mine. But I ran the hell out of it on the Strip from '78 - '81. :D

The lady said it was a 19....when I got there it was clearly an 18 with the round nose...etc. I actually like the 18 better. Im into the clasic mini-day look. I will check out Rex. Thanks...

Boatcop......where you a Coastie? Im from Phoenix and joined the Coast Guard after a bit of college and hoped to do 4 years and then move back to AZ and be a cop/ sheriff on the water. Well....I fell in love with the USCG and im still here after 9 years. I hoped to get stationed in Havasu but they obviosly closed her down.....what a bummer! Im in aviation now but am contemplating seeking out Law Enforcement again in the form of the FBI or Austin, TX ploice dept. Time will tell!!!!
Dang... Senior Chief! I just checked your link. Very nice! Any job opening for a Coastie with 10 years in. My enlistment is up next year. I would of course continue with the reserves.

Hard to say what openings we'll have in a year. But we're usually looking, and may even have the ability to put an extra person on board. At least in the Marine Unit.
If I can give you one word of advice, make sure you have something definite lined up before you get off Active Duty. I went Reserve after 13 years (as a Chief). But my situation was a little different. After over 8 years sea time, (2 back to back) and coming off a 378' and an '82, the Detailer was going to send me to isolated duty. I told him to pound sand. Luckily, the Chief Deputy (now Sheriff) here at the County was on the Boating Patrol while I was on the BOSDET here. He called me after he heard I was planning to get out, and offered me a job. Started as a Dispatcher/Jailer in '87, on the boat patrol in '88. Now 20 years later, I'm a Lieutenant, running the program.
The only drawback to going Reserve is waiting till age 60 to begin collecting the pension. But things will work out, since I'll stay on the job here at least till then, and then double dip. E-8 over 26 will be a nice chunk, when added to my Public Safety retirement.
As far as you're concerned, there's no Reserve Jobs for Airdales, so you'll have to switch over. And finding a Rating and jobsite close to here isn't going to be easy. I had to go to SD for mine, after I left the Colorado River Patrol. At least at my paygrade, I didn't lose money on the commute. I couldn't say the same for Seconds and Thirds who had to do it.
Let me know when you're close to EOE, and I'll see what I can do for you.

I've had this one since '98. It's really helped us enjoy life and meet lots of good friends. :)

Yeah,
There is alot of logistics involved. I start the testing process with the FBI on June 12...so that is a good thing and dont loose time just have to buy back my 10 which is cheap. Austin PD is the highest paid PD in the US and they have been knocking on my door several times and they have marine units...so if I do reserve I willl convert to MK or BM ad get coxswain qualified and maybe teach some safe boating classes to add to my resume to get me on the marine unit. I do miss Arizona and the river though. Thanks for the info. Who knows...I may give you a shout! Thanks!!!!

Tim,
I think I checked your boat out last year when it was moored at Buckskin, just north of the gas dock.
Nice ride! :)

Thanks Alan. We were at Buckskin around April last year for a week, so it was moored around there in different places. Theres some talk on the Spectra site about a Spectra gathering in June. If it happens maybe I'll see you there.

Shaft! If I had the money I'd throw mine away and buy yours. :D Love the bench seat. I want to put two of those in mine. I think it would give it a muscle car feel. ;)
