Some help PLEASE!!!!!

I'm trying to find a thread where someone took a factory Berkeley Jet-O-Vator cut the pivot end off turned it 90* and rewelded it back together. This making it work like a place diverter, so your steering doesn't move in and out. If someone could find this thread I would appreciate it. I did a couple searches with no luck.
